Scott Stevens Biography

Tuesday, 21 June 2011
Adelaide utility Scott Stevens has been forced to retire due to the effects of a head knock suffered at training.

"I'd have to be prepared to put myself in a position where there's a chance this [post-concussion syndrome] would happen again and I'm not prepared to do that," Stevens, who has had a history with concussion, said.

"I was keen to get back for a long time, but the length of time this has gone on for was probably the main contributing factor in my decision [to retire]."

Adelaide's Scott Stevens is still feeling the effects of a concussion he sustained at training six weeks ago.

We don't want him to keep trying to [exercise] and then go backwards. From a medical point of view he's ready to go, but in the end, the most important test is how Scott feels," Adelaide coach Neil Craig said.

"He'll come good and hopefully he'll be back in our team towards the end of the year."

Thursday, 21 April 2011
Adelaide does not know when Scott Stevens will be fit to play again after the utility again struggled to overcome the after-effects of concussion which include migraines and nausea.

"It will continue to be a week-by-week situation with Scott," football operations manager Phil Harper said.

"We are not sure when he'll be able to return to full training, but he will continue to work through the symptoms with the medical staff."

Monday, 13 April 2009
Adelaide won't rush back Nathan Bock after injuries to Scott Stevens and Nick Gill in the Crow's win against Fremantle.
