St Kilda select Charlie Banfield with pick No.41 in the 2025 National Draft.
Draft Profile: A versatile tall midfielder who can also go forward and have an impact, Banfield is strong and courageous overhead and can be damaging by foot. He played all four National Championships matches for Western Australia in each of the past two years and this year was one of their most consistent, featuring among their best players in all matches, averaging 14 disposals. Banfield continued to develop at WAFL Colts level with Claremont this season, averaging 22.3 disposals in eight matches. He topped his year becoming a back-to-back premiership player and was awarded best on ground honours in the Grand Final after gathering 28 disposals and kicking two goals to win the Mel Whitten Medal. Banfield is the son of former No.1 draft pick and two-time West Coast Eagles premiership player Drew and is eligible to join the Eagles under father-son rules. He represented the Eagles at WAFL senior level throughout the 2025 season. He produced an impressive show of endurance at the WA State Draft Combine, with an elite performance in the 2km time trial of 6:08 minutes.
