Michael Voss gives an honest assessment of the 2025 season during Carlton's 2025 best-and-fairest event after a disappointing season.

"As a leader, I fell short on what was required. That has been a difficult reflection. I let you down, and that sits really uncomfortably with me," Voss said.

"Right now, we are not a very resilient football club. This club is powerful if we choose it to be, but the fight must be out there, not in here."

Patrick Voss is enjoying a purple patch with the Dockers after six goals in his past two games, but his colourful on-field style is drawing just as much attention as he prepares to take on his former club, Essendon.

"The first thing that comes to mind is he is just a fantastic teammate," former VFL coach Leigh Tudor said of Voss.

"Everyone loved playing with him because of that energy he had, and he would bring them along with him, so he was a bit of a go-to for a lot of his teammates for that reason.

"There's a lot of quiet kids in footy clubs, so for him to be that real extrovert and to use his voice and be confident is a really good attribute to have in the AFL."

Michael Voss is calm about Tom De Koning's possible departure to St Kilda, as the Blues prepare for changes in their forward line.

In-form De Koning, a restricted free agent, has parked contract talks amid a blockbuster offer from St Kilda, reported to hit $1.7 million per season over seven years.

"He's an important player for us. Clearly he's in some really good form ... all I can see is what Tom's doing, and he's a very important part of our group. He's an important member of our team, and we want to get the best out of him, because he's important to us," Voss said.

Patrick Voss fails to overturn a three-match suspension for a high hit on Richmond's Nick Vlastuin that left the Tiger defender bloodied and facing potential injury.

"The extent and nature of the force of impact and the fact that full force of the impact struck Vlastuin's face leads us to find that the potential for more serious injury was real," Tribunal chairman Jeff Gleeson KC said.

"The video evidence shows quite clearly that this was a forceful blow to the head, and one that experience and common sense indicate could have readily result in a concussion."
