Draft Report: A GWS Academy member, Fahey's stocks only further rose after he won the MCC Chairman's Medal as best afield in the AFL Academy squad's clash against Geelong's VFL team in April. A rebounding defender with pace and a booming left-foot kick, Fahey recorded 23 disposals, nine rebound 50s and two marks in that match and followed in the footsteps of the likes of Matt Rowell, Ben King and Angus Brayshaw in winning the medal. Fahey is also a versatile player who can also play on a wing, he is strong in one-on-one contests and displays good on-field leadership qualities. Fahey is seen as a potential first-round pick, but the Giants will be hoping he gets to pick 21 or later given the first 20 picks are now protected from Academy bids being matched.
