Draft Report: The son of former Geelong hero Paul Brown, Tom is not father-son eligible to the Cats given his dad played only 84 games for the club before having his career cut short by a ruptured patella tendon. Unfortunately, Tom has also been struck by injury this year, missing a chunk of the year with syndesmosis. However, the 186cm defender has shown plenty in the games he has played this season. A half-back flanker, Brown reads the play well and is a good mark above his head. He rated elite in the NAB League this season for intercept possessions and rarely wastes the ball by foot. Brown had 13 disposals including five rebound-50s for Vic Country in its Challenge Match against Vic Metro in July to further stake his claims for an AFL list spot in 2022. Incredibly athletic, Brown recorded a sub-three second 20m sprint at the Vic Country draftt combine and a top-six finish nationally in the standing vertical jump test (72cm). His sister Millie plays for the Geelong's AFLW team.
