Brisbane select Darcy Wilmot with pick No.16 in the 2021 National Draft.
Draft Report: The youngest player in this year's draft pool, Wilmot does not turn 18 until New Year's Eve. But like the fireworks that go off on his birthday, Wilmot has been a very bright spark this year. He has primarily played across halfback or on a wing, but has also shown his versatility to play half-forward or through the midfield. A strong team-oriented player, he will fill any role that needs filling without hassle. While his disposal numbers generally aren't particularly high, Wilmot impacts with his run and carry out of defence and rarely wastes the football. He had a kicking efficiency of 75 per cent in the NAB League this season and finished third in the agility test (7.88sec) during pre-season testing. Wilmot is also a natural leader and captained Vic Metro in one of its trial matches in June. He is generally one of the loudest voices out on the field, always giving direction and encouragement to teammates.
