After being delisted by Collingwood and overlooked by Carlton during the SSP, Liam McMahon gets another shot at AFL level after being picked up by Essendon in the mid-season draft.

"I was always confident internally, always had that self-belief, but when you get knocked back like I have, 12 months ago in the mid-season with Carlton and not getting picked, then the whole rollercoaster at the end of the year with the National Draft, Rookie Draft and SSP, getting taken to the deadline and not getting picked, you question things and go this footy stuff might not be for me," he said.

Geelong premiership player Brandan Parfitt, former first-round pick Riley Collier-Dawkins, and ex-AFL players Liam McMahon, Nathan Kreuger and Charlie Lazzaro are among the host of delisted players who have nominated for the mid-season rookie draft.

Collingwood delists Callum Brown, Tyler Brown, Isaac Chugg and Liam McMahon.

"Callum and Tyler, we could not be prouder of their professionalism and the positive influence they have had on their peers during their time at the Club," Collingwood general manager of football Graham Wright said.

"For Isaac and Liam, they are two players who have always done the team thing and we thank them for their dedication to our Club."
