Riley Thilthorpe says he is entering his second finals campaign with a different mentality to last year.

"I'm definitely more excited than I was last year. I was probably more nervous last year, but knowing what I'm going into now, I'm just keen to get into it," he said.

"It has been a bit of an up and down year ... but I'm feeling good now, just super keen.

"I'm kind of sick of talking. I just want to play, so that's where my head's at ... I'm full of energy and just want to put this week on fast forward and play."

Riley Thilthorpe remains focused on team success rather than individual accolades after his breakout 2025 season.

"You can't really spend too much time thinking about it, because there's more important things and I don't play footy for All-Australians. I want to win a flag, so that's where my priority lies," he said.

"He seems to be gelling to that ruck role. He enjoys the freedom of getting up and around the ground, and he does have some weapons when he's up around the footy. When we drafted him from the SANFL he'd spent a lot of time in the ruck and he's a lot more comfortable in that position," Nicks said.

Riley Thilthorpe signs a three-year contract extension with Adelaide to remain at the club until the end of 2025.

"I've really enjoyed my first season in the AFL system and being given the opportunity to play for the Club I grew up barracking for," Thilthorpe said.

"I'm excited about the future of the Club and am happy to know I'll be here for the next four years which will allow me to continue to focus on my footy."

Riley Thilthorpe is the 2021 round 13 NAB AFL Rising Star after kicking three goals against St Kilda that included a miraculous match-winning goal over his head in the dying moments of the match.

"It feels good to be recognised, but the win on the night was more important to me," Thilthorpe said.

"My goal is to keep winning with this Crows side, keep getting picked for games and continue to improve."
