Adelaide is still considering if it adds speedy forward James Mathews during the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period.

The 23-year-old hasn't put a foot wrong while training with the Crows since last November as he attempts to snare a spot on the club's rookie list.

The Crows have until March 13 to decide if they sign Mathews during the SSP, or they could keep the list spot open to use during the mid-season rookie draft.

Mathews showed he has plenty of X-factor when the 176cm left-footer booted four goals for the Crows in their SANFL semi-final win against Norwood last season.

He played just five games for the Crows last year as part of their SANFL development squad, but he was a vital part of their run into the finals with his genuine speed, forward pressure and sharp skills.
