Miles Bergman has at least five Victorian clubs hunting him as the Port Adelaide gun takes time to consider his future. The versatile 23-year-old's value has been further boosted in recent weeks with a move into the midfield.

He has five potential suitors lining up with interest, including the Western Bulldogs, Melbourne and Essendon, as well as Carlton if Tom De Koning departs and opens up a first-round compensation pick, and St Kilda.

Port Adelaide is prepared to offer Miles Bergman a lengthy deal to keep him at the club amid strong interest from Victorian clubs.

A short-term two-year extension would take the 23-year-old to free agency at the end of 2027, with the option of a longer additional contract also set to be part of the discussions.

Miles Bergman is hoping a move to half-back and potentially the wing this season can help him break through for his first AFL game after an interrupted debut season.

Bergman was recruited with pick No.14 in the 2019 NAB AFL Draft as a medium midfielder/forward but injured his ankle as pre-season matches approached last year.

"I was hoping to get a game (last year), or as many as I could, and I was that close. But it's tough, especially when we were on top of the ladder all year and playing really good footy. Hopefully this year can be a bit different," Bergman said.

"It's good to be out there, because last pre-season I was injured for a lot of it. It's good to be fully fit and able to train with all the boys and I feel like all up it's going well."

Port Adelaide has re-signs its first three picks from the 2019 NAB AFL Draft including Miles Bergman, Mitch Georgiades and Dylan Williams, all of whom will remain at the club until the end of 2023.
