Malcolm Rosas jnr pays tribute to his grandmother and Indigenous leader Eileen Cummings ahead of his first Marn Grook clash for the Swans.

"My grandmother's been a big part of my life. She's been my hero growing up," Rosas said.

"She's been someone I can always talk to and be there for me.

"And even though I'm away from home a lot, she's always one call away or a message away.

"She's had a big impact on the Northern Territory. She plays a good role in that."

Malcolm Rosas jnr has landed at Sydney from Gold Coast in the 2025 Trade Period.

Rosas has played 49 games for the Suns, kicking 46 goals, across six seasons.

The Suns have been granted the ability to sign players from the Darwin region in the Northern Territory – and Gold Coast's own Queensland zone – without having to match bids for the prospects.

"It would be good to go up there. I was pretty surprised when [the concessions] came through from the AFL," Rosas said.

"It's a good thing for Darwin, because the NT hasn't been a big footy state for a while so it's good news."
