Xavier O'Halloran Biography

Xavier O'Halloran is enjoying his time in the Giants' midfield as he takes advantage of the extra rotations afforded to him through injuries to others.

"It's a position I grew up playing and one I feel comfortable in," O'Halloran said.

"My last month and a half here, I've been afforded that opportunity to play and develop in that role. That's been nice to work on and see what I can provide in that position here for us as well."

Greater Western Sydney draftee Xavier O'Halloran will continue a proud family tradition when he pulls on the No.33 jumper his grandfather, Ron McCarthy, wore for Footscray in the 1950s.

McCarthy passed away in 1989, so never got to meet his grandson, but O'Halloran clearly knows plenty about his grandfather's footy career after wearing the No.33 for the Western Jets in the TAC Cup.
