Max Lynch Biography

Thursday, 18 May 2023
Hawthorn rules Max Lynch out for the rest of 2023, moving the ruckman to its long-term injury list as he recovers from concussion.

"We have adopted an incredibly cautious approach with Max's recovery timeline given his concussion history, and this move affords him the best chance to return to full health," Hawks head doctor Liam West said.

"While we've seen some good improvement from Max and he had resumed gentle exercise, our focus is fully centred around him becoming symptom-free."

Max Lynch's playing future is up in the air after he suffered another concussion against Adelaide.

It is understood to be the ninth concussion of Lynch's career, following two in his debut season, with both taking longer than the League-mandated 12-day minimum recovery period.

"The club will support him throughout his recovery. He is a valued member of our club, but more than anything we just want to ensure his wellbeing and safety are front of mind," Hawthorn general manager Rob McCartney said.

Wednesday, 13 October 2021
Collingwood trades Max Lynch to Hawthorn with the Hawks sending their future third-round pick and Brisbane's future third-round selection to the Pies in exchange for the 200cm ruckman.

"We see some real promise and potential in his game. At his age, he fits the demographic of our list profile really strongly so we hope the timing of his development will align with the club's trajectory towards once again challenging for success," Hawthorn head of football Rob McCartney said of Lynch.
