Tuesday, 19 November 2019
Luke Ryan signs a three-year contract extension with Fremantle to remain at the club until the end of 2023.

"I've got my family back home (in Victoria) but when I spoke to them, we came to the conclusion that Fremantle gave me my chance - if it wasn’t for Fremantle I probably wouldn’t have been playing AFL," Ryan said.

"(Before) I was called out with pick 66, I felt it was my last chance and, luckily enough, they called me. I owe it to Fremantle and what they’ve done for me, so I wanted to sign on."

Thursday, 8 November 2018
Dockers coach Ross Lyon has challenged Luke Ryan to become more damaging with his run from defence.

"I had the exit interview (with Lyon) and what he wanted me to work on was a bit more run off half-back, which I've never really done over my career," Ryan told 6PR radio.

"More run and with the kick-ins, do a little bit more stuff we want to do and probably take the game on a bit more, which I'll have to learn how to do."

Thursday, 14 December 2017
Luke Ryan signs a two-year contract extension with Fremantle to remain at the club until the end of 2020.

"We’re all quite young and playing together, so, hopefully, we’ll stick with each other for a few more years," Ryan said of his Fremantle teammates.

"I can’t wait to see how we go this year and in the years to come."

Sunday, 24 September 2017
Luke Ryan wins the Simpson Medal as best afield for his 22-disposal, eight-mark performance the WAFL Grand Final after leading Peel to a 16-point win over Subiaco.
Monday, 7 August 2017
Just two weeks after returning to Fremantle's senior side since serving his club-imposed suspension for drinking, Luke Ryan earns the round 20 NAB AFL Rising Star nomination.

Ryan tallied 28 disposals and 16 marks in the Docker's 23 point win against Gold Coast.

"I wasn't really shocked (at the suspension). It's team standards and things we live by and I breached those," he said.

"I've moved on and worked hard and I've learned from that and it will never happen again."

Saturday, 5 August 2017
Fremantle coach Ross Lyon wanted a response from Luke Ryan after his club-imposed suspension for drinking and the Fremantle defender didn't let the coach down.

Ryan was outstanding across half-back the Dockers' 23-point win over Gold Coast, hauling down nine intercept marks – one shy of the all-time record – and finishing with a career-best 28 touches.

"Everyone's going to get challenged and if you don't respond you're not worth being here," Lyon said.

"Players get challenged about their football or anything that we expect a response from, those that don’t respond we basically move on."

Thursday, 20 July 2017
Luke Ryan and Brennan Cox have been dropped for drinking alcohol after the Western Derby last week.

Cox and Ryan failed to meet team standards with only a six-day break leading into this week's home clash with Hawthorn.

"Brennan and Luke are good young men who are very much a part of the long-term future of the club," general manager football operations Chris Bond said.

"The players have set and agreed to standards, which all of our players are required to adhere to. However, on this occasion that was not the case."

Sunday, 4 June 2017
Luke Ryan makes his AFL debut for Fremantle with 7 disposals (3 kicks and 4 handballs), 2 marks and 4 tackles in a 20-point loss to Collingwood.
Friday, 25 November 2016
Fremantle select Luke Ryan with pick No.66 in the 2016 National Draft.

“He’s a more mature age, he’s 20 years old and played VFL football," Fremantle list manager Brad Lloyd said.

“He’s more of a half-back with elite kicking skills and reads the ball well across half-back. He’s someone who’s shown he can play a really high level in the State leagues so it’s up to him to grab the opportunity when he gets to the club.”
