Michael Prior Biography

Michael Prior will resign from his post as coach of the Eagles' AFLW team after a horror 2023 season.

The Eagles have won just five of 28 games since Prior took over ahead of Season 6 and the club currently sits third from bottom having registered just two wins so far this season.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the role as senior coach of this amazing group," Prior said in a statement.

"There is exciting upside for these players moving forward, but after three seasons I believe it is time for a new voice."

Fremantle cuts ties with high-performance boss Jason Weber and assistant coaches Michael Prior and Anthony Rock effective immediately.

"We are taking this course of action now out of respect for people who are long-term servants of the club and who had sought clarity about their futures at Fremantle," Dockers chief executive Simon Garlick said.

"There is never an ideal time in these situations but given the team's relocation to Cairns next week, once the decision had been reached regarding Jason, Michael and Anthony, we wanted to provide them with the clarity they are entitled to and deserve.

"It was therefore mutually agreed that they would not be required to fulfill their duties for the remainder of the 2020 season."
