Jason Johnson Biography

Monday, 25 August 2008
Jason Johnson and Adam Ramanauskas announce their retirement from football.

Both will play their final game in Essendon colours against St Kilda along with fellow retiree Mal Michael and Damien Peverill who has been told he will be cut from the Bombers' list.

Tuesday, 13 May 2008
Essendon club president Ray Horsburgh reveals that the club has told veteran midfielders Jason Johnson and Damien Peverill that opportunities for them may be limited as the Bombers embark on a strong youth policy over the next few years.

Bombers coach Matthew Knights, however, was less than impressed that this decision was made available to the media.

"I'm disappointed the way it's played out, particularly for Jason and Pev, because they've been fantastic and superb players for the footy club," Knights said.

"Obviously the chairman of the footy club has the opportunity to speak on behalf of the footy club at times. What I will do at the next board meeting is, I will raise the scenario and do it through the right manner and channels."
