Lloyd Perris Biography

Luckless rookie Lloyd Perris is delisted by the Swans after undergoing his third knee reconstruction in two years in August.

Lloyd Perris has undergone a third knee reconstruction inside two years after innocuously rupturing his "good" knee at training last week.

The 20-year-old, who is yet to make his debut, has endured a torrid introduction to AFL football after needing two traditional reconstructions on his left knee and on Monday underwent the controversial LARS procedure on his right knee.

"He's had a wretched run since he started his career at the Swans and as a result his season has finished," Swans football manager Tom Harley said.

"It was just one of those training mishaps and was Lloyd's good knee. He's had some ACL reconstructions on his other knee so it's devastating for him."

Lloyd Perris has undergone another round of surgery on his troublesome left knee and will be sidelined for 10 weeks after a training mishap last week.

Perris damaged meniscus cartilage on the knee he had LARS Surgery on halfway through last year.

"Lloyd hurt his knee slightly before Christmas and thought it was OK, but he tweaked it a little bit last week," Sydney coach John Longmire said.

"He went and had it operated on today and it was a successful operation."

Longmire, however, said the 20-year-old was well equipped to rebound from the disappointment.

"He's clearly disappointed that he's had to go and have another operation, but he's a pretty resilient kid," Longmire said.

"He's determined and he attacks his rehab with enormous vigour and effort, and he knows he gives it his best.

"He knows what's in front of him and I'm sure he'll do a good job when he gets himself back.

"Having it done now means he's still got the majority of the season to perform."
