"Billy and Lewis were both unfortunately sidelined for most of the year with injury, but we thank them for their commitment to St Kilda over their time at the club," Saints head of football Simon Lethlean said.

"While Sam was only here for one season, he has had a great impact on our group."

Lewis Pierce signs a new one-year deal to remain at St Kilda in 2019.

Pierce lined up for the final three games of St Kilda's 2018 season and showed his competitiveness at the level.

"I was given the opportunity to prove myself at AFL level those last few weeks of the season and I am really keen to repay the faith the club has shown in me," Pierce said.

"I'm confident that with another pre-season behind me I'll be able to put my best foot forward and really push my case for more senior football."

St Kilda delist Lewis Pierce, but with another season left on his contract, the Saints will pick him up as a rookie.

St Kilda has re-signed ruckmen Billy Longer and Lewis Pierce on two-year deals, tying the pair to the club until the end of 2018.
