After being selected by Port Adelaide with pick 9 in the 2019 Mid-season Rookie Draft, Former Docker Cam Sutcliffe says he is keen to re-ignite AFL career.

"It means the world. I sort of half expected getting delisted from Fremantle, but to get another chance at the top level, it's always been my dream to continue to play in the AFL," he said.

"Missing out in the rookie draft (at the end of last year) was pretty disappointing, but to come to the club and to be able to captain the Magpies team has been good, and to get another opportunity is great."

Sydney has met with former Docker Cam Sutcliffe as it weighs up its options ahead of the Delisted Free Agency Period.

Cameron Sutcliffe will be assessed after the defender copped an accidental knee to his head from Crows ruckman Reilly O'Brien in the third quarter of Fremantle's pre-season clash at Strathalbyn Oval.

Cameron Sutcliffe signs a three-year contract extension with Fremantle that will keep him at the club until at least the end of 2018.

"We're obviously building a really strong culture within the group, and I feel with the way the club is heading in an upward direction, that's something that I want to be involved in," Sutcliffe said.

Cameron Sutcliffe makes his AFL debut for Fremantle with 15 disposals (7 kicks and 8 handballs), 5 marks and 4 tackles in a 38-point win over the Western Bulldogs.
