Brad McKenzie signs on with North Melbourne until the end of 2015.

"North Melbourne's just a great club with a great culture and the first 18 months I've spent here have been awesome," McKenzie said.

"I've got a really good bunch of teammates and I'm really confident we are heading in the right direction."

When Brad McKenzie joined Jack Ziebell on a high-altitude camp in Utah, he developed a hunger for hard work - and learned how to cook.

"It was good to bond with a leader of the club and to see how hard he trains. Especially training with someone who had the same sort of aerobic capacity as me when he started his career, to see how much he's improved," McKenzie said.

"He pushed himself to the maximum, which pushed me to the maximum."

Sunday, 13 May 2012
Bradley McKenzie makes his AFL debut for North Melbourne at Docklands Stadium with 4 disposals (3 kicks and a handball) and 4 marks in a 18-point loss to the Western Bulldogs.

Hamish McIntosh says Brad McKenzie has the best skills he has seen from a first-year player since he has been at the Kangaroos.

All the young kids are going really well, but Brad would be the one that stands out most. His skills are impeccable," McIntosh told SEN.

"He's got some of the best skills I've seen come into the club in the ten years that I've been there."

North Melbourne's Brad McKenzie is happy to be back on the track after hyper-extending his knee before Christmas.

"Our scans just before Christmas confirmed he just had a little bit of bone bruising from a collision injury, but structurally the knee was fine," director of medical services and player pathways Steve Saunders said.

"For a player of his age, the plan was to take it easy over the Christmas and New Year break, let the bruising settle down and then to spend January reloading and getting ready for full skills again."
