Cameron O'Shea Biography

Thursday, 30 August 2018
Carlton delist Aaron Mullett, Cameron O'Shea as well as rookie-listed duo Matthew Shaw and Jesse Glass-McCasker.

"We wish Aaron, Cam, Matt and Jesse all the best for their future endeavours. They have all contributed strongly to our football program over recent years and should be proud of their achievements during their time at Carlton," Carlton football manager Brad Lloyd said.

After a year out of the AFL, Cam O'Shea appreciates how fortunate he is to be offered a second chance by Carlton.

O'Shea would get a taste of life in the real world, working at Nike's Melbourne head office in between his training and playing commitments with the Northern Blues. Working in logistics and as a shop assistant, O'Shea realised just how good he had had it at Port.

"Working does put things in perspective and obviously I won't take it for granted the second time around," O'Shea said.

"I'll just do everything I can to hopefully string a few games together and pursue my career.

"You just don't really understand how good of a job playing AFL is until it's over. Just being out of the game for a year you can definitely tell that it's a great privilege to be able to play AFL."

Sunday, 30 October 2016
Cam O'Shea is delisted by Port Adelaide after spending six seasons at the club.

O'Shea posted a message on Instagram on Sunday morning confirming his time with the Power had come to an end.

"Thanks for the good times pafc loved the highs and lows of the past 6 years. Looking forward to what's next," O'Shea wrote.

Ollie Wines and Justin Westhoff sign new deals with the Power that will keep them at the club until the end of 2016 and 2017 respectively.

The duo were joined by young defenders Jasper Pittard who signed until the end of 2017 and Cam O'Shea who committed until the end of 2016.

"It's very positive, it shows that they believe in what we're doing, how we're going about it and that they want to be a part of it," Power coach Ken Hinkley said.

"The best compliment you can get for a football program when you have people wanting to stay in it."

Friday, 31 August 2012
Port Adelaide resigns four of its young players including Jasper Pittard, Cameron O'Shea, Jarrad Redden and Aaron Young.

"Adelaide's a great place to live, there's more sun than Melbourne and less traffic, but the main part is sticking together … and getting games together with the young group so that in the next few years we can be a really competitive side," Young said.

We are pretty tight off the field and spend a lot of time with each other, so it's definitely a big factor in all of us re-signing," O'Shea added.

Saturday, 26 March 2011
Cameron O'Shea makes his AFL debut for Port Adelaide at Docklands Stadium with 13 disposals (9 kicks and 4 handballs), 5 marks, 3 tackles and 1 hitouts in a 75-point loss to Collingwood.
