Jesse Stringer Biography

Thursday, 25 September 2014
Geelong delists Nick Bourke, George Burbury, Jordan Schroder, Jackson Sheringham and Jesse Stringer.

"We thank Nick, George, Jordan, Jackson and Jesse for their contributions to the club and wish them every success," Geelong football manager Neil Balme said.

"It is never easy letting players go, but we hope they receive opportunity at other clubs in the future.

"George, Jordan, Jackson and Jesse all received opportunity at AFL level and played in our 2012 VFL premiership."

As he enters the final year of his contract, Jesse Stringer aims to cement a senior spot with Geelong in 2014.

"This is my fifth year coming up now, so I feel like I've really got to put the foot down and give Scotty and the other coaches a reason to keep me," Stringer said.

"That's a big thing to work on next year – my consistency in the VFL and AFL. I don't want to do what I did this year and keep playing inconsistent footy."

Wednesday, 10 October 2012
Geelong has promoted Jesse Stringer to its senior list after three seasons as a Cats rookie.

"He's worked hard and I think we saw in the first half of the year that he can play AFL football," Stringer's manager Adam Ramanauskas said.

"Hopefully now he can push forward."

Friday, 22 June 2012
AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson says Geelong's decision to ban Jesse Stringer over the alleged assault of a woman will not be prejudicial to his case despite concerns by the players' association.

"I don't believe that anything I've seen in this has interfered in any sensible way with natural justice or the proper court processes in this case," Anderson said.

"They (Geelong) have a strong leadership group and they've dealt with these matters effectively and well and we support them."

Thursday, 21 June 2012
The Cats announce that Jesse Stringer will be unavailable for AFL selection for the rest of 2012 after being arrested by police last week.

"The sanction will be imposed upon Jesse Stringer after he recently displayed behaviour that the club sees as totally unacceptable," Geelong said in a statement.

"He will also be required to attend behaviour related education programs arranged by the club. The club has arrived at this decision following a recommendation from the player leadership group."

The Herald Sun reports that Cat Jesse Stringer indulged in a marathon drinking session prior to the alleged assault of a young woman that led to his season-ending suspension by the club.
Saturday, 16 June 2012
Geelong midfielder Jesse Stringer has been arrested by Victoria Police over the alleged assault of a young woman.

"Geelong player Jesse Stringer was the subject of a complaint made to police on Friday," a statement from the Cats read.

"Given the matter is being investigated by the police, the club, its players and officials are not in position to make any comment until such time as the police investigation and any subsequent events arising out of the investigation have been concluded."

Sunday, 22 April 2012
Jesse Stringer makes his AFL debut for Geelong at Kardinia Park with 6 disposals (3 kicks and 3 handballs), 2 marks and 3 tackles in a 10-point win over Richmond.
