Cameron Hitchcock will undergo surgery due to soreness in his foot stemming from plantar fascia.

"He managed training on Monday but is still sore and we've planned to have him undergo surgery," Port Adelaide football operations manager Peter Rohde said.

"He won't run for two weeks and will resume full training after about four. We think it's likely he'll be available for the opening week of the NAB Cup."

Port Adelaide has told small forward Cameron Hitchcock he is a part of the Power's future under new coach Ken Hinkley.

"Port have said they're keen for Cameron to play on, which he's really rapt about," Hitchcock's manager Greg Size.

"He's happy at Port and excited he'll now get the chance to play under Ken Hinkley."

Port Adelaide has suffered a double whammy with Matthew Lobbe and Cameron Hitchcock sidelined for the rest of the pre-season.

"We might have been able to manage it in January and February, but it would have been a nightmare to do it all year, so we thought the best thing would be to knock it on the head right now," Power head coach Matthew Primus said about Lobbe's hip injury.

Tuesday, 26 October 2010

Port Adelaide has promoted Danny Meyer and Cameron Hitchcock to its senior AFL list.

"Given that he jumped from playing SANFL reserves footy to the AFL over one pre-season, Cameron developed very well this season finishing third on our goal kicking," Power football manager Peter Rohde said.

"Danny played a handful of senior games for us this season off the rookie list where we thought he made a solid contribution. He has a good mixture of speed and endurance and we're confident that Danny can continue to take his game to another level."

Sunday, 28 March 2010

Cameron Hitchcock makes his AFL debut for Port Adelaide at Football Park with 13 disposals (7 kicks and 6 handballs), 3 marks, 2 tackles and 2 goals in a 14-point win over North Melbourne.

Wednesday, 24 March 2010

Port Adelaide vice-captain Dean Brogan expects rookie forward Cameron Hitchcock to play in round one against North Melbourne.

"Hitchy has been great for us and he's been promoted to the senior list, so I'd say he'll play," Brogan said.

"Mitch has been great for us. He played all the trial games and he'd be well into the mix."

Wednesday, 17 March 2010

Cameron Hitchcock is elevated to Port Adelaide's senior list to replace John Butcher meaning former Blue Cameron Cloke remains a rookie due to David Rodan's remarkable recovery from a knee injury.

"I had a meeting with Choc last night and he told me that the club was going to upgrade me today," Hitchcock said.

"I've really enjoyed playing so far in the NAB Cup and this is a great opportunity for me."

Friday, 12 March 2010

John Butcher and David Rodan are place on Port Adelaide's long-term injury list allowing the likes of former Blue Cameron Cloke and livewire forward Cameron Hitchcock to likely be elevated to Port Adelaide's primary list.

"We'll definitely upgrade someone in the next two weeks. Cloke and Hitchcock are the two that are at the forefront now. It'll depend on needs and who we're playing that week, but both of them have shown enough form to get upgraded," Power coach Williams said.
