Nick Lower Biography

Thursday, 19 September 2013
Nick Lower is delisted by the Western Bulldogs after playing 13 games with the club in 2013.

"Obviously I haven't played as many games as I would have liked in my seven years, but I've still got seven years of experience under my belt," Lower said.

"The first half of this year was a steep learning curve for me because I've never really tagged before, but you learn a lot by doing it.

"As the year progressed I copped a few injuries, which were a bit out of my hands.

"It would have been good to come back into the team and just play as a midfielder, which was an opportunity I was always looking for."

Daniel Cross, Nick Lower, Lukas Markovic and Patrick Veszpremi are delisted by the Western Bulldogs.

"These decisions are always difficult but are made with the club's future as the primary focus," Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney said.

"We thank the players sincerely for the valuable contributions they've made to our football club and wish them the very best for the future."

Western Bulldogs pick up former Fremantle Docker Nick Lower as a free agent.

"I'm really over the moon. I couldn't be happier," Lower said.

"I really was pretty unsure with what would happen in the future, but I couldn't be happier to have landed at the Western Bulldogs."

Monday, 3 December 2012
The Western Bulldogs have signed former Power and Fremantle midfielder Nick Lower.

"I really was pretty unsure with what would happen in the future, but I couldn't be happier to have landed at the Western Bulldogs," Lower said.

"Second chances don't come around often and third chances are even a slimmer chance.

"It's been a bit of a difficult period after getting delisted over the last couple of weeks … but I'm really excited."

Wednesday, 28 November 2012
Melbourne forward Matthew Bate is hoping to resurrect his career at the Western Bulldogs after being granted permission to train with them along with former Fremantle defender Nick Lower.
Delisted Fremantle onballer Nick Lower has chosen to train with the Western Bulldogs rather than his former club.

"I know as well as anyone the way things can go up or down, so I wish him all the best," teammate and reigning club champion Ryan Crowley said.

"He's a great competitor and a hard worker, so hopefully he impresses down at the Bulldogs and gets a chance.

"Me and Nick are pretty close so I was disappointed to see him go, but that's footy."

Thursday, 15 November 2012
Delisted pair Nick Lower and Jesse Crichton will continue to train with Freo in a bid to join the club's rookie list.

Utility Dylan Roberton has also been cut after turning down a new contract to return to Victoria for family reasons.

Friday, 20 April 2012
After a shoulder reconstruction and a three-week ban for forceful front-on contact to Collingwood's Dale Thomas in round 23 last season, Nick Lower made his return to football with a 27-disposal effort in the WAFL.

"It's been a frustrating pre-season in a way, not being able to play and having a few injuries along the way, but it was good to get out there and get that body contact again," Lower said.

"I had the shoulder done just before the last game last year, and there were some minor issues here and there through the pre-season.

"That's lengthened things out a bit, which is kind of frustrating, but it was nothing too serious and the one good thing out of it is that I was able to run the whole time."

Friday, 16 October 2009
Port Adelaide has delisted Nick Lower, Jonathan Giles, Matthew Martin and Jesse Laurie while Daniel Stewart has been upgraded from the rookie list.

"Both Jon and Nick have been quality people to have around the footy club, and we thank them for that and wish them all the best," football operations manager Peter Rohde said of Giles and Lower.
