Just weeks after his delisting, Ryan Willits is offered a lifeline with his former club, Port Adelaide, picking him up in the 2007 rookie draft.

"At times after I got delisted I wondered if it was all over, but the club had the faith in me to keep me training and it's good to get re-listed as a rookie," Willits said.

"I definitely want to have a really good year next year. It's pretty much my last chance and that's been made very clear."

Port Adelaide delists Willits whose slow development has seen him overtaken by the likes of other players at the Power such as Justin Westhoff and Alipate Carlile.

"Ryan hasn't shown much improvement in the past few years so we want to give ourselves an opportunity to pick someone better," Power coach Mark Williams said .

"You can only put so much time and effort into them. He really hasn't succeeded so we are happy to give someone else an opportunity."
