Aisake O'hAilpin faces deregistration from the game for allegedly headbutting ex-Saint Raphael Clarke in a Northern Territory Football League match.

A ban of two games or more would push O'hAilpin beyond the 16-game suspension threshold that would see him automatically deregistered.

Raphael and Xavier Clarke prepare for a new relationship as the Flying Boomerangs head to South Africa with Xavier as the AFL's indigenous programs coordinator and Raphael coaching the side.

The Flying Boomerangs is a program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders aged 14-15. The 25 players on the trip will play two matches against South African teams in Potchefstroom and Durban.

Raph Clarke's manager says there is still interest from rival clubs in the St Kilda defender despite the unrestricted free agent remaining unsigned at the end of the free agency period deadline.

"We're hoping that something can get done this week," Clarke's manager Tim Hazell said.

"There's a little bit of interest out there. There's a slight chance he might stay at St Kilda, but that's a bit of a longshot at this stage. After nine years, he's wanting a fresh start."

Raphael Clarke could be on his way out of the Saints with the Blues and Giants showing interest in the defender.

"He was frustrated he didn't get the opportunity he felt he deserved [at St Kilda]," Clarke's manager Tim Hazell said.

"Like anyone who has been in the system for eight years, you'd want to be playing consistent AFL football and he feels his body is up and ready to roll. He wants to get that opportunity."

Former St Kilda captain Lenny Hayes has overcome a hamstring complaint and will play against Adelaide, replacing another hamstring victim, Raphael Clarke.

ST KILDA defender Raphael Clarke could be sidelined for up to four matches after he suffered a hamstring injury in the win over the Sydney Swans at Docklands on Saturday night.

Clarke, who shone for the Saints in last year's finals after a tough battle with injury, illness and some personal problems, left the field during the third quarter of St Kilda's 15-point victory.
