Lewis Young Biography

Thursday, 7 October 2021
Carlton has turned Sam Petrevski-Seton into Lewis Young, with the Blues, West Coast, and the Western Bulldogs completing a three-way trade on Thursday.

The Eagles handed over pick No.52 for Petrevski-Seton, who requested a move back to Western Australia last month, which the Blues then on-traded to the Dogs for Young.

Wednesday, 6 December 2017
Lewis Young will wear retired Bulldog great Bob Murphy's No.2 jumper in 2018.

"I got a call from 'Bevo' (coach Luke Beveridge) the day before pre-season," Young said.

"He said, 'we’ve got No.2 here for you, the coaches have decided that you'd be a player that would take that number over, and we'd like to offer it to you.'

"So then there was a decision whether I wanted to take it or not, obviously I did, and I was very humbled to be asked to."

Sunday, 16 July 2017
Lewis Young makes his AFL debut for the Western Bulldogs at the MCG with 21 disposals (10 kicks and 11 handballs) and 9 marks in a 20-point win over Carlton.
Tuesday, 6 June 2017
Lewis Young signs a one-year contract extension with the Western Bulldogs.

"The way that Lewis has adapted to the AFL system after coming across from Adelaide at such a young age has been fantastic," Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney said.

"On the field, he’s got exceptional speed and agility for someone his size and a reliable pair of hands."

Friday, 25 November 2016
The Western Bulldogs select Lewis Young with pick No.49 in the 2016 National Draft.

"A 198cm forward who we think can also play back, and another former basketballer," Bulldogs recruiting manager Simon Dalrymple said.

"We felt that he's got some potential as a key forward or defender."
