Collingwood signs former college basketballer Darrean Wyatt as a category B rookie for next season.

Wyatt hails from Melbourne, stands at 204cm and has spent the past three years with American college basketball side Coastal Georgia.

"I'm 204cm but I can really move like someone a lot shorter … I can get down … so that's my strength," Wyatt said.

"Collingwood is a huge business and (has) the best facilities in the League … and it's definitely everything it's cracked up to be.

"(There's) a long way to go yet, but it's definitely a start and I can't wait to get more into it and work harder."
