The Brisbane Lions select Japanese-born Sean Yoshiura in the 2009 rookie draft.

Yoshiura represented Queensland at under-16 level and played with Mt Gravatt in the 2009 QAFL state league grand final.

"As a family, we are pretty big with AFL," Yoshiura said.

"Dad is always excited and he's very happy now. We have been Lions fans since we got here, and it is a great thrill to be chosen by them."
