Joshua Gibson on the game:
"Everything's gone well so far, we just hope we get plenty out to the game on Easter Monday, pack Telstra Dome, get all the supporters out there and hopefully we can put up a good fight."
Dean Laidley on preparing for Essendon:
"We've really focused on what we do. We've had a look at a couple of their games and they play a little bit differently. But this weekend's more about what we do, how we do it."
Dean Laidley on the off-field issues at North Melbourne:
"There's always something to talk about at the North Melbourne Football Club, but the reality is that the players and the coaching staff get on with what we do best and that is teaching these guys how to play football."
Dean Laidley on Nathan Thompson:
"He's had a pretty good preparation and he's a part of our forward line. It's great to have him back but he certainly won't be our focus in the forward line. If he can play his role and be a part of that side we'll be very happy."
Dean Laidley on the team's preparation:
"We've prepared very well, we've given everything our full attention and that's all we can do, and then front up. As long as we give ourselves a platform to perform."
Nathan Thompson on returning from injury:
"It's a little bit nerve-wracking, to tell you the truth, it's been a fair while and the practice matches aren't quite the same feeling. I feel good, the knee feels good, I don't think I've lost any speed. It's just a matter of getting out there and playing hard and hopefully it clicks again."
Nathan Thompson on his new role:
"Two years ago it was probably more focused on kicking the ball to me and that's changed a lot now. It's probably very important that I fit into the forward line as a role player rather than come in and try to take over."
Matthew Knights on his coaching style:
"I am reasonably calm and relaxed at the best of times or the worst of times so I think it is important for me to stay calm and relaxed and I think that rubs off on the players."
Matthew Knights on the younger players:
"We understand that our young team won't be intimidated. They're going to go out and play hard and play aggressive and take the game on. Our senior players are still going to hold the key for this team because they're the guys that are going to be consistent on a weekly basis."
Matthew Knights on Matthew Lloyd's role as captain:
"The great thing about him is he's going into a new frontier as captain, he's got a lot more younger players in the team with him and he's going to enjoy that challenge."
