Robert Campbell on winning convincingly:
"At three-quarter time, we talked about it and said in the last couple of years, we tended to get to good positions at three-quarter time and then take our foot off the pedal or be a bit undisciplined. It's just really good that we were able to stick to the game plan and get over them by as much as we did."
Robert Campbell on playing in defence:
"Going down back, you're playing on some pretty amazing players. David Neitz has been around been around for a long time, and he's learned a lot of tricks. He's one of those guys where you think you've got him out of position but he still gets his hands to it."
Alastair Clarkson on not expecting such a big win:
"Never in your preparation for a game do you anticipate a game is going to open up like it did in the second half. Given it's a season opener we'd be happy to win by a goal, to perform like we did is really pleasing - but it's Round 1."
James McDonald on deviating from Dean Bailey's game plan:
"As the pressure went on, I probably did it, we went into not bad habits, but old habits of the way we used to play. When everyone's not performing the same way you're not going to get the result you want."
James McDonald on positives from the game:
"Believe it or not there were some positives out of it. It was just little tinkering things that we need to fix, the first 10 minutes we sort of dominated the play and we just couldn't get any reward for it and that's probably a little bit of a technical thing."
Dean Bailey on dealing with the loss:
"We'll go through the tape and we'll pick some things out that we can learn from. We're just going to get back on the track and work hard. We've worked reasonably hard the last couple of months and they know what's coming at training during the week."
Dean Bailey on whether there was any indication that of such a big loss:
"No indication at all. We had a good week of training and we were going to the game with a belief that if we were competitive for long enough, that we were a chance. But that wasn't the case. We were uncompetitive for too long."
David Neitz on on how bad the Demons are:
"I don't think we are that bad, but the proof's in the pudding and you've actually got to go out there and be judged on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. It doesn't matter what you think, it's what the result is out on the ground."
David Neitz on the Demons' lack of pressure on the Hawks:
"The Hawks were very good, but we were pretty poor, were not able to put any pressure on them as they were coming out of their back line and they just ran it out of the back line and through the middle of the ground and our defensive pressure was poor."
David Neitz on the disappointing result:
"We had two guys play their first game, the coach had his first game for the club and yeah, it's very disappointing as you say. We put in a lot of hard work over the pre-season and all for nought."
Dean Bailey on any positives to come of out such a bad loss:
"It's very disappointing. There's not a lot of good things to say about it. We let ourselves down in just about every area of the game and we've got to get back on the track and get some confidence back because there was not a lot of good things to come out of today's game."
Dean Bailey on whether he feels humiliated by the result:
"Humiliated? I feel very disappointed for our Melbourne members who came along today."
Dean Bailey on how the Demons will improve:
"It's still only Round 1, so who knows how good are Hawthorn going to be or how well are we going to bounce back. We just have to put this one behind us. It's four points gone begging and we've just got to get on with the rest of our season."
