Shane Crawford on who will come in for the injured Luke Hodge:
"I think Chance Bateman will probably come straight back in for us. I'm hoping that's the case, anyway. He'll need to get through training on Thursday. Obviously with Luke out it's a big loss, but getting Chance back in. He adds plenty of run and has been playing well."
Lance Franklin on being a one-club player:
"I would really love to be known as a one-team player, that's what most footballers want. Going back to WA has never crossed my mind. I love it here. The club has been good to me and I love all the guys here. I want to stay at Hawthorn for as long as they will have me."
Trent Croad on Lance Franklin's maturity:
"Since he has been at the club, this has been the most mature and disciplined I have seen him. From an older player talking about a younger guy, I am starting to see him complete his game, sacrificing the way he does play sometimes to mix it in with the other forwards."
Sam Mitchell on Shaun Burgoyne being on the same level as Chris Judd and Gary Ablett Jr:
"Just with that explosive speed and being able to break a game completely open all on his own, and the amount of games that he's probably kept Port Adelaide in or won off his own boot, I think he's probably pretty close to the same as those two."
Sam Mitchell on Hawthorn's depth:
"I think where our footy club's at is we have a lot more depth and we have a lot of players who are playing very, very good football, particularly through our midfield where I obviously play, so it's becoming harder and harder for opposition clubs to match us up."
Sam Mitchell on Hawthorn's midfield:
"I think one of the good things about our midfield depth is that we all have the capability of playing very good footy and if a couple of us are shut down it seems to be working for us that we can just change our roles a little bit and other guys seem to be able to step into the roles that we might have been expected to play."
Mark Williams on playing in Launceston:
"We've been very successful at playing Hawthorn and, certainly, down at Launceston we really like the surroundings, but that's not to say it's going to be easy. Last year we won on the last kick of the game and you'd expect Hawthorn is playing better than that now, so we'll have to play even better."
Mark Williams on playing the in-form Hawks:
"It's going to be a really difficult task. Obviously, they've won seven in a row, are cherry ripe and are feeling good about themselves, so they deserve to be favourites. But we'll back our players. We're a team that has won three in a row and are pretty excited to have the opportunity to play an undefeated team."
Mark Williams on not playing Michael Wilson:
"On Wednesday, Wilbur actually fell on his knee and hurt it a little, so we were a little concerned about that. We thought 'well, what's the point?' We'll make sure he's all right for next week."
Mark Williams on coaching Lance Franklin in the Dream Team:
"I learned that Buddy's big. He's a big guy. I didn't really learn much more about him. He's a pretty good player for a 21-year-old, and you can imagine how good he's going to be in a few years time. But Michael Pettigrew played pretty well against him last year and has got the leg speed to go with him."
Mark Williams on former Power staff and players at the Hawks:
"They've got 'Dewy', and Brent Guerra is a very good player too. Stephen Gilham has played well and Andrew Russell has done a wonderful job there. Then there's Alastair Clarkson, Damien Hardwick, Geoff Morris, Chris Pelchen and I think Nick Russell, who is their video man. Is there anyone else? No, that's about it."
Brendon Lade on playing against former teammate Stuart Dew:
"It's been funny seeing him out there for Hawthorn in the No. 31. Obviously, we've never had the chance to play against Dewy before, so it will be good on Saturday. He knows all our strengths and weaknesses and we probably know his too, so it goes a bit both ways."
Brendon Lade on Port Adelaide's form:
"We've had three wins in-a-row and we're starting to move along all right. We think we're around the mark, but you never know until you play the best and Hawthorn is certainly one of the best at the moment."
Warren Tredrea on his form:
"We're into round eight so we'll see how we go. But I'd like to keep playing as long as I'm wanted and as long as I'm performing. The first part of the season has been a progression on where I was last year but I still want to strive to improve and get better."
Warren Tredrea on needing to get more wins:
"You think about the last three weeks, how positive the team has been, how much improvement we've shown. It proves we're heading in the right direction. We're confident our best footy is good enough. We just need to rack up the wins to make sure we're there at the end of the season."
Warren Tredrea on Port Adelaide's 3-4 record:
"Our intention is to play finals footy. We lost a couple of close games at the start of year we thought we could have won and if we did things better we might have got different results. History says we're 3-4 and percentage just outside the eight."
Warren Tredrea on playing Hawthorn:
"We've got a tough task against Hawthorn but we've also got a pretty good record against them so everything's in front of us. If we're good enough we'll get there."
Kane Cornes on Michael Wilson being available:
"Personally I'd play him, but the club hasn't made that call yet an d it'll probably come down to selection on Thursday. He'll play for someone, whether it's us or Port Magpies I'm not sure, but if it was me picking the team I'd play him."
Kane Cornes on Power players making the most of the break:
"Speaking to the guys it was good timing for them, they had a really solid week on the track so it was good to get some extra work into us and catch up a little on the advantage the other clubs had in pre-season. So they had a really good week and are excited about the biggest challenge in footy."
Kane Cornes on handling Hawthorn's zone defence:
"A lot of teams are doing that these days, not just Hawthorn, so we've come up against that in the first seven rounds, and we train for it. I think it's just about moving the ball really quickly, no real secret, and trying to play through the middle and get it into our forward line."
Justin Westhoff on his role in 2008:
"This year I'm playing a different role to last year, a bit more up the ground, so I'm just happy to be getting a kick at the moment. We're focusing on a few different things with my game - playing up the ground and doing those chases and tackles. I'm just focusing on that and if I keep doing that consistency will come."
Justin Westhoff on getting more attention from defenders this year:
"Definitely, coming from no one caring about me, or even knowing me, the attention from match-ups has been a bit more from those key-position defenders. I'm trying to take it in my stride. I'm working in the weights room and trying to bulk up to see if I can match up a bit better on the bigger-bodied players."
Justin Westhoff on his future with Port Adelaide:
"I love playing with the Power and can't wait to hopefully re-sign after 2011. We've got a good group coming through and we're all really good mates, so the club is looking forward to the next couple of years."
