Alastair Clarkson on playing in front of a large crowd:
"We don't get an opportunity to play in front of those sort of crowds on a regular basis. We think we're starting to deserve the opportunity to play in front of big crowds. We'd like to think we play a good brand of footy that people enjoy coming to watch."
Alastair Clarkson on Hawthorn's season so far:
"We know it's only round seven and we've got a long way to go. All we ask as a coaching staff is that we have 22 guys that contribute and play their role and for the bulk of the day, we had that."
Alastair Clarkson on getting contributions from all players:
"The most satisfaction any coach has is when you have 22 contributors. We had guys who played very important roles for us in the back half, and through the middle of the ground. And then you get the icing on the cake when you're able to finish as well as we did today. If we've got 22 guys playing their role, then we're really pleased as a football club."
Alastair Clarkson on having a shorter break than Collingwood:
"It was a great challenge for our side. Collingwood had a couple of extra days break on us so we had to make sure we switched our attention to the Pies pretty quickly. Andrew Russell and Peter Burge did a first-class job looking after their conditioning over the course of the week. To be able to run the game out as we did in the second half was a great credit to those two guys."
Alastair Clarkson on beating Collingwood:
"They're a terrific side. They're very well coached and disciplined, so to even think we were going to get the four points today was going to be a tremendous bonus, let alone to win as convincingly as we did in the end. The preparation of the guys and their professionalism in getting the guys ready for this contest with such a short break was pivotal to our win."
Alastair Clarkson on Luke Hodge's injury:
"He was unable to participate further in the game, and he'll have that scanned throughout the course of the week. I dare say if it's a normal type of hamstring, and I don't think Hodge has done a hamstring before, that it's a two to three-week injury. But we'll have to wait and see what the scan unveils."
Shane Crawford on playing with talented teammates:
"You just want to get the ball to them up forward because you know they'll use it so well. It's very, very exciting playing with not only good players, but players who back themselves and have a lot of confidence in their own ability."
Mick Malthouse on being beaten by Hawthorn:
"I don't know if we play them again, hopefully we do, and if it's not during the home-and-away series, hopefully we're good enough to make the finals. One thing is for certain, we're not in a position where we'll even contemplate giving up. We will go for it, we'll experiment and we'll keep working at it."
Mick Malthouse on addressing Collingwood's weaknesses:
"We were smashed in the centre. Our backs just weren't up to scratch. A few of them are really patchy at the moment. We'd be kidding ourselves if we didn't acknowledge the fact that we've got some weaknesses across the board. We reassess the lines and a few of the match-ups where players play and how they work together. There's a lot of work to be done."
Mick Malthouse on persisting with Nathan Brown on Lance Franklin:
"It would have been easy to give him another opponent, but sometimes it's far better to take your medicine and learn from it. He came to me at three-quarter time and at the end of the game and was still wanting to know how he could do things better. He will be one of those players down the track will represent us in a capacity where he will be the dominant backline player for us."
