Jobe Watson!!!
God this guy annoys the s**t out of me!! he gets plenty of the ball but his disposal is the worst of any player in the AFL .Essendon staff have been working with him on it 4 at least 3 years now and it hasnt improved. How long do we have to wait to see this guy play real football???
If he cant do the basic's he cant play AFL simple as that.your thoughts???

I noticed Jobe make one obvious blue against Port, but its Brent Stantons turnovers in the corridor that have concerned me more. Same as the first qtr against Collingwood when he said "YOURS"!!

Actually its pretty typical of essendon allround at the moment, we fall off tackles, turn the ball over, and miss targets. Just have to except that things will change eventually.

next time anyone goes to the footy, grab yourself a footy record and check out that jobe gets more kicks and hballs than the average, with a better effective % than the afl average. there is too much unfair expectation on the kid coz his last name is Watson, the whole team needs to lift its efficiency with their disposal, not just the one bloke who goes in an earns a touch for himself.

Exactly. There needs to be more players willing to back him up.

*shakes head* another crap performance besides that one good goal. Good on him for finding the footy, but loses it again too quickly too often!

Yes, I agree some times, but remember he is 191cm hardly a small mid. He is good a under player, but he needs to handle the ball better for the clean possessions!

OMG I can't believe some of the comments on here, Soft no Guts what a load of crap. Jobe is our ONLY In & Under midfielder (McVeigh/Davey out injured). He's one of the few mids we have who show the desparation to go in and get the bloody pill, yes he did turn it over a few times on Friday, but why cos he was under pressure surrounded by pie scum while all the other mids were peeling off for the easy receive so they could be the star who runs and carries into the F50. If you want to call someone soft take a look at a couple of the efforts of a few of the other boys (Hello Stants/Dyson) These boys need to get some desperation into their game (they have the talent), need to show what it means to wear the Red & Black...

He panics when he has the ball and it results in turnovers but he's definitely improved since last year.
David from Melbourne (Bombers supporter), 13 Apr 2008 19:47 hide comment
YES!!!!!!!!! I agree. I was at the game and Jobe turned over the ball too many times. I couldn't count the number of times his handballs were intercepted.

I think as a team we handball too much. Yes! run with the ball but sometimes too many handball chains are not required and can result in turnovers. Those mistake killed any momentum we had at the time against the doggies.

Oh yer Jobes problem and most of the team for that matter is PANIC, just once when the heat is on id like to see not as many errors as we make.
Graeme from Melbourne (Bombers supporter), 12 Apr 2008 22:40 hide comment
I think the whole team has a "Softness Issue". Take a look at one of the Fevola leads against Carlton when Stanton actually runs out the way instead of impeding Fev's run at the incomming ball, He shat himself and they saw fit to give him a number 5 Hmph. Yes they look better, faster etc but if they are going to go to water everytime a bit of Physicalitty is put on the ball then the future still looks dim for this season.

Watson appears to be scared to get the ball. No guts no glory! Where have our hard men gone too? How about trading him, Loyd and Lucas for Campbell Brown?
Andy from Melbourne (Bombers supporter), 11 Apr 2008 23:30 hide comment
other then that, the team tryed their guts out 2night and if it had'nt been for injurys i think we would've had it.Paddy ryder what a superstar!!!
Andy from Melbourne (Bombers supporter), 11 Apr 2008 23:27 hide comment
Does 2nights game prove my point at all???
he had the most clangers in the team most of them handpass's that resulted in 2 goals.Yes he racks up the possys but does f**kall with them.
Kim from Adelaide (Bombers supporter), 9 Apr 2008 1:08 hide comment
Sorry, but he annoys the crap out of me too. I hold my breath every time he gets the ball!!
Steve (Bombers supporter), 8 Apr 2008 22:23 hide comment
he may stuff up 2 or 3 times a game, but what about the 15 other possessions he gets out to team mates in a pressure situation? Worth his spot in our best 22 no probs.
