hi all i just finishd commenting on the lloyd topic and wanted to know ur opinions
some one commented that llyod hasnt kickd many goals in recent times due to him not leading much or very well.
i replyd to that i said our midfield havnt been up to scratch and dont offten hit him on a lead and most times when he does lead it takes to long to get in ther.
2nd of all i think the direction for the team to head in involves getting in dust ups and not doing anything stupid but allso not worrying about getting maybee a 1 week ban for a malle and crunching players in a marking contest in short get some balls and passion back at windy hill and put the comp on notice that wer back step up if ur good enough

I think you raise some good points, but I also think a lot of people (Lloyd included) expect the ball to come to him on a platter every time. Two criticisms I have had of Lloyd are his lack of second efforts and that he plays for the free kick too often. His second efforts have improved a bit over the last couple of years, but last year he still threw his hands up at the umpire too often. It is easy to look good when you're getting it on the tit every time, and I reckon we're turning the corner where midfield disposal is concerned, but Lloydy needs to lead by example. 2nd efforts, one percenters.
On your second point, I reckon we've got rid of most of the hot-headed players that were giving us that reputation. We'll always be a hard-hitting side (I wouldn't have it any other way) and i think this year's aggression will be more focused on the ball, not the man. UP THE BOMBERS

From the game last night, some of our delivery into the forward 50 was a lot better than it was last season (especially from Davey).. That should make things easier for our forwards if the ball gets in there fast..

I agree with the comments that Lloyd needs to get a bit faster to make better leads, but he's also quite good when the ball goes to ground (as long as he doesn't).. Mind you lets just hope he gets fully fit and stays that way this season..

yeah maybee i should have added that i think u do need some pace! i just dont think pace is the be all end all if u can hit a target then the pressure is on the other side to make sure they have a man. dosent matter how quicl lloydy is if he gets 2 meters clear on a lead and it gets to him lace out no1 will stop him.

i am glad to see that some one is as willing as me to blame the whole team not just a player or to thanks mate

bloody oath mate scotty is a player i love to hate lol but i love him if that makes sens i call him mr clanger man but gee if he is red hot he is red hot i still feal that jhons needs the ass lol even young jay neagle deserves a go before him after his efforts lastnight.
i like that knights has them looking to run a bit more as no doubt u do need a bit of pace but i think whilst he is telling them to run he needs to bang home that if the handball isnt realy a great option bang it long i watchd the game last night and sevrel times senior and younger blokes handballd stupid passes around the wing that resulted in a turn over wher as if it wer bangd in long who knows the out come. i think lastnights match was more like what we are going to see in the season proper both teams look to realy slow the game eg lock it in the foward lin our run it out over the line and if thats the way the dons are gonna play all season with a few big names to return look out im excited one last thin i think houli is going to be a force and perhgaps is a little under rated i saw a handfull of games he playd live last year and told the mrs to watch him and this season he has done allright and ppl jump on him lol maybee all u dons fans out ther should get along to a few live games and suppeort the boys and u would know who is gonna do what instead of waiting to see it on tv wher all u see are stats go live and learn what they do without the ball witch can be just as important

I think the problem with lloydy is that during preseason he whacks on to much weight. This causes him to slow his pace including his leading, it takes him to about midseason to lose that weight and get more speed back by that time he has put to much stress on his hammy or other things and gets a twinge or even a slight tear. The key is with him during preseason is to run run run and cut the gym work down.

i see ur point but look at plugger didnt need to be quick or even very fit for that matter. the game is still calld football people think its changed to a fast paced game but to me its only been allowd to be forseen as this due to one or 2 sides having pace and the rest not willing to challange this with old world footy oh gee ther quick we better get quicker. eg keppler for mine would have been a gun for us but got dubd to slow i say increas ur basic skills and do what ur payd for and what u learn at grass root level my point beeing so what if lloyd gets fat DELIVER the ball to him on a platter. thanks for ur thoughts andy
