Before Rocca went off the ground against the Dogs, he was pulling at least 3 defenders in the 50 metres last week. When he went off we were 4 goals up, and look what happened after that.
Christopher from Melbourne (Magpies supporter), 28 Jun 2008 12:30 hide comment
I just feel really sorry for him, even if he does get back next year I don't think he will keep his spot in the side with developing forwards such as Rusling, Reid and Dawes who will all be pushing for a spot in the senior side.
He if he would be full fit is a top 22 player but with Rusling back next season can't see him getting too many games!

He's good at standing there with his hands on his hips, out of breath, even if he's done nothing.

Retire. There's no point.

he was on the footy show tonight and said that he season is most likelty over he will try and get ba k but he has said that he has no intensions of going to the nfl next season he hasnt fullfilled everything he wants ion football yet so pebbles will be back in 09 better than ever

I just pray that is back as soon as possible. He is a pivotal player!

F: Medhurst Rocca Davis
HF: Rusling Cloke Thomas

If we could get this team on the park and fully fit I think maybe only Hawthorn could rival this forward line.

i would have ff thomas rusling davis chf didak cloke medhurst and have rocca coming of bench for rusling and thats it ...medhurst and didak are much suited to half forward good leads and strong hands and can kick a mile thomas dosnt hav the engine to play there i reckon he be much suited to forward pocket most of game...nathan brown and bryan should also get runs through the forward line..also they should throw gold sack at half forward a few times through games he has a crack and when they put him there in 2nd quat against the bombers he change the game..i like him maxwell cant play forward i hate it when he does
Christopher from Melbourne (Magpies supporter), 24 Jun 2008 17:59 hide comment
I'd play: (ofcourse assuming all fully fit with current senior listed players)
F: Rusling Rocca Davis
HF: Medhurst Cloke Didak

Medhurst is better more up the field and has great vision. Rusling is a leading forward that should lead from way down the ground rather than just the half forward line. Also prefer Didak forward, Thomas I think should play more midfield.

But certainly we would rival Hawthorn with this forward line. I'd go as far as saying fully fit we have the best forward line in the comp with Hawthorn comming 2nd. Backlines I'd say Adelaide 1st and Sydney 2nd. Midfield Carlton 1st and Geelong 2nd.

very ..hard too say.. when he went off the game change ....its hard i think he will come back towards end of year..i think they should look to blood chris dawes with cloke and nathan brown in forward line or play bryan there too.and bring presty in the back line and let n brown go forward with dawes and cloke.... in next 5games seen rusling rocca reid are out..we hav to mix it up..confuse the other teams....i like when t goldsack goes forward too...they should stop playing toovey and cook tho they arnt good enough and keep wellingham in the side and give john mc carthy ago and give stanley another go and egan

I mostly agree especially with the need for a large full forward to replace Rocca like Nathan Brown or Bryan as a target is seriously missing and the rebound is hurting us. The small forwards are awesome but check the Bulldogs for what a tall can do to that type of line up. The backs aren't so much the concern as you seem to point out by proxy. What do you think of Cox in the forwards BTW he did OK a couple of weeks ago..

nah not cox .... next 6 weeks i would have ffale thomas bryan c.dawes chf:medhurst cloke didak also i would run nathan brown through there for dawes and when byan gos to ruck and frazer has a rest on bench.. during game and didak can change with davis in the middle and also give t goldsack a run on a half forward flank on anzac day when he was moved there in 2nd quat he change the game.. and he has a crack

Cox wont be playing for a few weeks i dont think. He got knocked out in the VFL on the weekend and got taken to hospital for bran scans. not good.
Matt from Ringwood East (Magpies supporter), 23 Jun 2008 17:34 hide comment
may be a positive as i believe rocca is very much getting towards the end.
Maddison (Magpies supporter), 23 Jun 2008 17:18 hide comment
Rocca is getting on a bit in his age, and a little in his Footy skills too, yeah.
Like Daniel said adds great strusture to the Pies, and we need big guys like him to put pressure on in the forward line
And personally i think Cloke has a disgraceful kick, so the more ball rocca gets rather then cloke....THE BETTER
Daniel from Adelaide (Magpies supporter), 23 Jun 2008 17:07 hide comment
we need him, he gives us structure and provides a contest. He was no. 1 in contested marks last year lets not forget.
Provides a good foil for Cloke.
Christopher from Melbourne (Magpies supporter), 23 Jun 2008 17:00 hide comment
If he were to be finished it would mean that for next season there would be one less player dropped from the senior side which is probably a good thing. Even so he is still starting 22 material for us and its a pitty to see him injured again.
Rebecca from Craigieburn (Magpies supporter), 23 Jun 2008 15:06 hide comment
Its a shame he will be out for 8 weeks
Rebecca from Craigieburn (Magpies supporter), 23 Jun 2008 12:17 hide comment
As soon as Anthony went off the ground injured the bulldogs got on top of us. With Anthony playing he always takes the oppositions best defender - no matter how well he is performing he makes an impression on the game.
