Rhyce Shaw should have been kept on Judd and left on the ground when Judd went off
Rhyce Shaw killed Judd and was winning plenty of the ball and actually creating play. When Judd went off why take Rhyce off. He is too underrated and not used enough to run and attack.

Please let us play Carlton in the finals when Rocca is back to straighten us up. We might not have anyone capable off stopping Fevola this year but they don't have anyone capable of stopping Rocca, Medhurst, Cloke, Didak and Davis.

Clearly Carlton run all over us in the midfield using Judd, Stevens, Murphy, Gibbs, Simpson and Scotland to feed Fevola.

We need to get on top of these midfielders so Tarkyn, Burns, Pendlebury, O'Bree, Swan, needed Rhyce on to help them win the ball (not just stop Judd).

We have a great forward line and good midfield with a mixed backline just lacking one big leader (to replace James Clement's spot) to help O'Brien, H.Shaw, Wakelin (now very slow), Johnson, Clarke (used to stop and then run off small forwards), Bryan (who drifts back deep to block the hole and is playing very courageous committed football nowadays). We need to develop a key backline player to stop power forwards and to win a grand final, someone to launch attacks from the deep like Clement used to.

It's been too long since 1990 but Tony Shaw should never talk about how to coach, rather stick to talking about how to play!!!!!!!!

but i waffle on and on.....

Rhyce was magnificent and an "ace" in the Collingwood pack. Couldn't understand why he was rested when Judd was off. Should have let him keep winning the position. He had energy to burn and certainly showed no signs of needing a rest. Wonder if it was a tactic of Carlton coaching to take Judd off at that point knowing Shaw would go off too. Maybe Mick is not single-minded enough and convicted in his own strategies especially when in pressure situations.

What is the psychological negative Fevola has on everyone at Collingwood -players, coaches, supporters? We have beaten many of the best forwards already this season with style and power. Brown has been great against high class and far more senior opponents, Harry continually improving and Wakelin enduringly proficient in his defensive skills despite his maturity. Belief is the missing dimension when we meet Carlton.

but I waffle too
