Rd 5 Collingwood vs North Melbourne Game Thread
I thought this would be a cool little thing we could start and then get peoples input and thoughts so lets give it a crack.

Overall Head to Head for these 2 sides shows Collingwood has won 98 games to North's 46 with 2 drawn but since 2000 its been Collingwood 8 to North's 4.
The last 5 meetings between the 2 sides shows Collingwood has won 3 to 2 but the last 3 have been all Collingwood by a average of 50 points.
Collingwood are coming off a embarrasing loss to the Blues while North gained some confidence with a win against the hapless Demons. Interesting to note that both sides have no won consecutive games to this stage but its only early.
The Kangas have won 5 of their last 6 games at the MCG with Brent Harvey averaging 28 touches in the last 5 games against the Pies.
Nathan Thompson has also been goaless in is past 2 outings vs the Pies.

The key match up i think will be Fraser vs McIntosh, both players can run around the ground and play as another midfielder and watching last weeks game, Kreuzer got his hands on it too easy and the Blues ran it out to the Fev too often. For the Pies to win they need 1st hands on it.

Verdit is Collingwood by 12 points

we got fking robbed!!!! Rocca took a mark and called not 15m when it was and they go and kick a goal and then from the bounce the ump bounced it 20m towards the Kangas end and they score, game over.
Rhyce Shaw has to go as well, i dont care if he got a bit of it. He turns it over every time

nah ive always supported Shaw even after the 03 GF but his decision making is terrible, Brodie Holland was the same last night but was his 1st game back so. I dont care if he touched it 26 times, he doesnt hurt u with them and never goes the right option. I will admit he got to alot of 50/50 balls and put his body on the line but im not sure how long that can keep u in the team. O'Bree was worse then Shaw though.
Ben Reid went to ground too often and didnt hold any marks. Malthouse made a error taking Rocca off for Reid with 5 mins to go when it was still game on, even if Rocca didnt play that well.
Cloke is making a contest, i dont care if he isnt kicking 4 goals a game. As long as he brings the ball to the ground and straightens us up im happy.

Will have to agree to disagree he was excellant on against north. As for going to the wrong optionall the time that would show up in the clangers column and his efforts are the sort that some other players need to follow. I'm not sure where the hate is coming from.

Clanger stats dont always show the real story. I mean if he kicked a 2 on 1 and it gets punched away it doesnt show up as a clanger. He handballed into the corridor in the defensive 50 when our defender was in no position to recieve the ball and get rid of it properly and it got chopped off for a important goal for them in the 4th qtr.
I dont hate him im just frustrated with a few of our boys who should be making better decisions then they are making and its now got us at 2-3 instead of 4-1. The next month is critical and we could be looking down the barrel. This year will be the toughest to make the 8 ever.

I see you also in Adelaide mate, you should check out the Collingwood SA Supporters Group that im in. We watch all the games together and its good fun. I wont be there this week cause im flying over for the game but you should check it out.

If you want to blame anyone from collingwood, freakin blame BEN REID. Useless... bloody useless.

Also, Mick Malthouse, keep bloody Leon Davis on feild. always. he is amazing.
Rocca and cloke need to stand up, and they bloody need to do it this week.

Bloody, save some blame from the umpires of hell!

Been on a few forums today and it appears that Rhyce Shaw is still evreyones whipping boy.he had 26 dispossals for the night and only 2 clangers as well as being named in our best players. People need to get over the 03 gf i rekon. He is in good form atm and near the excellant football he was playing before he did his knee.

Our skill level was atrocious last night, bitterly disappointing.

If we can get over the loss to Carlton and play at our very best, we will kill the roos. If we are still down from last week we might get slaughtered. Hopefully the boys will be on the ball and kick butt.

Pies by 40 points.

We ususally match up pretty will against North. I'm not confident of a win, but I think we should. If we can play with our usual intensity, instead of the woeful showing against Carlscum, then we should beat North. I think it will be a pretty close game though.

Pies by 9 points.
