Collingwood has signed 40,000 members for 2008!
Collingwood announced on Tuesday that it signed the club’s 40,000th member for the 2008 season and is on track to break the club’s all-time record and the highest membership recorded for a Melbourne-based AFL club.

Collingwood has broken the 40,000 barrier twice before, in 2003 and 2004 - with the club’s highest membership (the highest on record for a Melbourne based AFL club) being 41,256 set in 2004.

Collingwood President Eddie McGuire said, “On behalf of everyone at the club I would like to thank all those who have renewed their membership or recently joined our great club. The loyalty, passion and commitment of Collingwood members is legendary and has made Collingwood what it is today " the biggest and most famous sporting club in the country.”

I'm pretty sure the Crows & the Eagles have a bigger membership base than us.

Fantastic effort from all pies supporters, It's time for the boys to repay our faith and bring home the cup this year. Losing to Geelong by 5 points still kills me and I can't wait to win the flag.
