Arrin!! What have you done?? You've cursed us all. We lost BOTH!! Don't ever post topics like this again. The two teams I take the greatest pleasure in seeing lose to collingwood beat us in the first 4 weeks of the season! AHHHHHHHHH

Anyone that has followed our great club for any substantial length of time would know that the answer is Carlton.
Sure we have had some great battles with Fitzroy over the years.
Including this one which still rates as one of my favourite games even though we lost - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwDKwa9goOU . I actually got trampled lol.
But back to the subject, Carlton have caused us so much pain throughout the years I find no greater pleasure in just giving it to as many of them as I possibly can on the wayo ut of the ground.
Half of my immediate family barrack for Carlton and half for Collingwood. I remember at one Christmas party one year there was an all-in-brawl when an argument erupted about how Wayne Harmes' ball was actually over the boundary line.
I don't think the two rivalry's compare.
Even though it has quietened down in recent years every Collingwood supporter worth his salt knows that deep down inside all we want to do is beat that ****ing scum and beat them by as much as we possibly can.
Seriously, there are 7000 of our supporters on here from all parts of Australia.
A conservative estimate would say in Round 4 there will be 60-65,000.
Even if it is the only game you go to for the year, get out there and rub it in.
We havent been in a better position in a long time to show that scum that they will never be anywhere near as good as we are.

I hear you Dianne!!!
Definately the Lions, its painful going to the Gabba and hearing the cheer of more Lions fans.....I think they need some southern hospitality!!!

Are you serious ??? Carlton at the G ... Next best thing to winning the flag
Martin from Melbourne (Magpies supporter), 29 Mar 2008 11:09hide comment
Blues at the G. I hate the scum with a passion. Plus, at the G, I can go along & watch the win in person.
Marty from Melbourne (Magpies supporter), 29 Mar 2008 9:08hide comment
it would have to be the blues at the G!!
Only cos its easier when you live in melbourne!! GO PIES

There is nothing I hate more than losing to the Brisbane Lions. As the years pass my hatred for them festers even more than every other team. I would luv to wipe that smirk of Leigh Matthews face!!

Obviously I'd love to see us beat both, but if I had to pick one then it's no contest - those wannabes - carlton. Keep 'em on the bottom where they belong.
Jarrod from Craigieburn (Magpies supporter), 26 Mar 2008 0:27hide comment
I'd rather beat Carlton cuz there's more people to give **** to...but...its a double edged sword, lose and your gonna cop it, at work, on your phone, on the train ride home. No need to worry however, we are lookin good this season, we'll take em both.
Daniel from Adelaide (Magpies supporter), 25 Mar 2008 13:35hide comment
i would rather beat carlton then brisbane at anytime no matter where either side is on the ladder.
carlton r our main rivals so a win is always a must.
i got nothing against Brisbane, we just got them at a bad time.

Personally Carlton at home, but would love to win any game that we play
Andrea from Melbourne (Magpies supporter), 25 Mar 2008 10:47hide comment
I agree - Lions at home, away or anywhere. Carlton have been so poor lately it is hard to get the old rivalry going.
