Was it too soon to appoint Judd as captain
I would have preferred to see stevens as captain he leads well on the ground, as koutoufides even said stevens is very vocal on the training track as well

He looked pretty good at the practice game. Of the players on the field (with Stevens obviously injured) it was clear that either Judd or Simpson were the only two candidates.

although he is worthy of it, id still rather see stevens captain. he has been around the club a bit longer and knows more bout the guys around him.

YES!!!!!!!!! ok hes the best player in the team but he dosnt know the guys well enough yet give him a year that appoint him.

nope, not to soon, i think we'll all agree that he has more to offer as a captain than anyone else in the team. if i was playing at carlton id have more respect for judd, the young kids couldnt sleep when they found out we were getting him. bet they wouldnt lose a nights sleep over stevens.

Was behind Stevo all the way, but at the end of the day he is the best player in the comp and like stevo said he much rather loose it to him than any other player.

Ron Barassi did, but I can't think of anyone more recent. Then again, players good enough to do so aren't traded very often.

Anyhow, he's been training at the club for four months. Being captain is more about what you do every day around the club than what you do for the three hours a week on the field, so having not played any actual games shouldn't prove problematic. If Judd has captured respect of the players within just four months, then that probably means he deserves the role even more. Stevens may be the best longer-term player on the field, but it is clear that his performance at training is not as captaincy-worthy as Judd's.

I agree with you 100% Charlie. I like Chris Judd, he always lead by example at WC, but Stevens should have got it! We love ya Nick, good to see ya back and playing bloody good footy!

stevo should have got it yes judd is a great player and captain but he only just became a blue boy

I'd rather have seen Simmo get the gig, personally. Puss may be a better player, but Simmo has a better work ethic. I similarly prefer Judd to Puss.

judd-superstar, but stevo should have got the nod

stevo should have gotten the captaincy... u cant just come into a club and get the job... ok judd has the ability to be captain and yes he can play well but that was at west coast and west coast is a totally different club to what carlton is in at the moment...
