Trade Bait
Carrazzo is deninate trade bait, as well as russell, i reckon wiggins deserves another 2 years, hes been through all the tough times and has lifted a lot, we need to stop waisting our time on irish imports, too much money and time has gone there, who else do you think would be good trade bait?

If kerr is up for trade we should definately goi for him. if we were contending for flag i would go for cousins - he still a gun player. agree we need a ruckman, another key defender and forward luvin kruezer.

Is there any truth in the rumer that the players have agreed to take a pay cut to get Kerr onto the list? I dont read the sun but ive been told that there was an article this morning saying that every player has told the club that if the trade happens they will all take a cut to give him a 500,000+ contract.

I would love to have him in our midfield. I feel you can never have to many midfielders as the game is won or lost in the middle every time we loose it is from small periods when we loose the clearances with Kerr those periods wouldnt happen.

West Coast almost won back-to-back flags with no forward-line. Put Kerr in our team and we'd be committed to trying to repeat that feat. I'd still rather see us focus on the forward-line than more midfielders.

I agree. we have a group of midfielders that in 3 or 4 years will be equal, if not better than Kerr. Would love to have Kerr, but we need another key forward and defender.

OK everyone shoot me down but what if we traded Walker for a Ruck (decent one) or CHF CHB? Gotta give something to get something.

I said last year that we would have been better off trading Walker to the Eagles than trading Kennedy (if they'd have taken him, of course). Don't worry about the ruck or the backline - time will sort those issues out. But I'd be open to trading Walker for a quality #2 forward, definitely. Unfortunately, his trade value will be lower this year than last due to the injury.

Agree trading Josh could bite us later.

Russell and Browne. They're just not adding value. Wiggins has proved himself this year (would have traded him last year). Others are solid./

C'mon Karen Browne's just a kid playing his 5-6 game. He has shown plenty this year and may be the answer to our problem with small forwards.

Trade bait would have to be Jordan Russell for someone pretty good. Seeing as Micheal Shields has gone back to Ireland so that has left one position to fill on the rookie list. Aisake O'haipin, Jason Saddington and Cain Ackland and just maybe Clint Benjamin will all be delisted. From what I hear blues are front runners in getting Robert Warnock, the big ruckman from Freo. As far as Trades go I don't think blues have too many actual players to trade they might just have draft picks to trade with and thats about it.

If they're after Warnock, they'll probably trade Hampson for him. Ruckman for ruckman. If they don't make this sort of trade, we'll have too many ruckmen on the list - which means not enough room for them at the lower level to develop.

No way they will be trading hampson. He is a QLD boy and the ideal way to get a compensatory pick out of the gold coast. Warnock is an ideal target however and reportedly keen. Still talk of blues snaring a "gun". Who is this gun, Brown? Kerr? Embley? Only player we could trade that has currency is Jordan Russell but I reckon he is worth percivering with. Bye bye Setanta and your brother who was "taller and faster"!
Mal from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 28 Jul 2008 6:47hide comment
Agree, he should be in the middle more though and not down back as much. However if another club wants to give us something of value it's worth considering cause of the glut of midfielders we have.
Tarrant from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 26 Jul 2008 13:32hide comment
I think Carrazzo is being wasted in defense. If they don't have plans to use him in the middle in the future, then he could actually be valuable trade bait. I don't think Russell or Wiggins would attract much value.

Bear in mind, I think all three players deserve their place in the team. But I definitely think that Carrazzo is expendable if they plan to continue using him in defense.

Adam from Adelaide (Blues supporter), 24 Jul 2008 16:38hide comment
Well I dunno who we'd use as tradebait besides maybe someone like ackland or someone like that who is surplus to requirements. Carrazzo has to stay and i'd probably keep russell unless we can get someone really good for him otherwise he does the job he's there to do really.
