He's certainly amongst them. Even from his first games, he looked the goods. I remember his third game, where he played against Matthew Lloyd. He completely dominated Lloyd on the lead - perhaps better than I've ever seen Lloyd dominated on the lead. Lloyd still managed six goals in the game, but five of them came from within 15m of goals - including that farcical Goal of the Year - and the umpires were extremely lenient on hands-in-the-back throughout the game. We should count ourselves very lucky that Crosisca is on the coaching staff, because there's no doubt that he brought Jamison with him from North Ballarat.
As you say, the best thing about Jamison coming in and taking the best leading forward, as well as Waite taking the CHF and Bower taking the best tall forward, is that Thornton can play as the #3 defender on any type of player and rebound, a role which he can dominate.
Murphy won't be just another midfielder - he'll be one of our main assist guys. Thinking about the promise of Judd, Stevens and Murphy all delivering the ball lace-out to our forwards on the lead - and all having the capacity to blaze away from 50m if there are no options - is very enticing.
Gibbs, at the moment, may be our "just another midfielder."
I still envisage Kreuzer long term in more of a Koschitzke role, with Hampson and Cloke/Aisake/Jacobs holding down the ruck. I've always rated the ruckman as vitally important, and accordingly see Hampson as, in the long term, perhaps our most important youngster.
Browne looks like he'll be handy, Bower cannot be ignored, Russell is still at the cross-roads, I still see a future for Bentick, Grigg has a way to go but I think he'll be good, and Jackson still has promise.
