Umpiring last night
Maybe its a biased opinion that i have on the umpiring(if you can call it that) last night against the Lions, but does anyone else agree that if it not for the disgraceful decision making from those green freaks we could of been in the game?

Plus i must add Waite was a great contributer to the backline last night also. He was everywhere. And hats off to Scotland for getting that many possessions.

Cheers

I was at the game and have to agree with some of what u said. Our turnovers killed us and we we not hard enough at the ball in the first qtr. Eddie nearly had his head taken off 10m from goal and the ump called play on. Then with the resultant kick in Brissy got a 50m penalty and goaled. So yeah the green ******s got us a few times

Didn't get to see the game, but from an independant perspective there have been a lot of umpiring errors over the last few weeks. The Eagles were robbed of 3 goals by blatent umpiring mistakes.

Every one talking about how good Waite was as a spare man but was killed when he was on an opponent shows that he needs to be up foward where he can be dangerous. He took some good marks infront of brown but rather than being able to take a shot on goal he neede to pass it off and we all know that his foot skills arent that good.

Ive heard that there is a good chance the Jamison wont miss any games which is positive.

As soon as Thorton comes back i say we put Waite up foward. Or even more him now and play someone like Austin down back and see how he goes.

Waite drops out of the game too much as a forward. Leave him down back, but don't let him kick in.

The umpiring was not great but it is not the reason we lost. Poor skills and bad decision making contributed greatly to this.
I thought Waite was smashed other than when he was the spare man. He played that role much better than actually minding someone. Bryce Gibbs was terrible in the loose man role. We are really going to miss Jamieson if he is out as Bradshaw didn't get a kick until Waite went onto him.

Bollocks. It's fans like you who blame umpires for comfortable losses that make the rest of us look like fools.

Waite was solid as a loose man. He was slaughtered by both Brown and Bradshaw during the various times he was on them -as opposed to Jamison, who completely smashed Bradshaw in every way and will be a huge loss if sidelined.

i agree the umpiring wasnt fantastic but when you turn the ball over as easy as they did last night to the class of their midfield early on you probably never be in the game all we can hope is that they learn from it
