Foward line vs Brisbane
With all our injurys and Fev problably going to miss 1-3 weeks we will probably go into the Brisbane game with a weak foward line. I was wondering what people thought we could do to kick a winning score.

Heres my thought.

HF: Brad Fisher, Matthew Kruezer, Resting Midfielder

FF: Eddie Betts, Sentanta O'hAilpin, Jake Edwards

I recon we can put Sentanta up foward if Waite takes Brown, Power takes Bradshaw and Jamison takes Brennen. If Brown dosnt play due to injury he can go up foward.

Fisher should run up to the wing and take marks there and hand it off the the midfielders.

Kruezer will not always be up foward as, if Hampson plays we can simply just rest a ruck up foward.

We need a resting midfielder up foward to add some class to the foward line. Also it is needed so that when the ball hits the ground (and id expect it to happen alot with the talls ive chosen) we need more than just eddie roving and snapping goals.

As much as Edwards is out of form the more marking fowards we put up there the thinner we will make Brisbans defence and put pressure on them.

Fev was not charged by the Match Review Panel. Huzzah.

I think we will be fine.
I would swap Betts and Fish though. I remember last year or the year before, Fev was out injured or reported (one of them) and Fish was put down there and he was our star, and we won that game, with a number of other star players out, so please... be a little bit more positive. After all it is only Brisbane.
If we can't win without Fevola then I'll be one pissed off Blues supporter. He does not make our side, oh and neither does Judd!

I don't think Fev will be out. Barry Hall got away with the ideantical thing back in 05. But I could be wrong.
I would like to see Waite in the forward line if Fv is not playing. It will be a good experiance for him.

I'd swap Bower and Jamo in your defensive match-ups.

Kreuzer has to play forward all day. Fortunately, Hampson isn't injured and should come back into the team - and if he weren't we'd have to try Jacobs or Aisake, because we will simply need Kreuzer forward.

Fisher, obviously. Edwards, unfortunetely, because his form has been terrible. Betts crumbing and leading, replaced with Ellard when Betts is in the middle - Ellard probably doesn't warrant his spot, but he'll be needed. Russell or Wiggins are possibilities to play floating flanker roles.

I think we should try to kick wide to the pockets so that we get boundary throw-ins instead of turnovers if the I50s are poor. We should be reasonably good in forward stoppages.

I dont think that we need to play kruezer foward all game. Cloke can play foward and Hampson played foward in patches last year against Melbourne and did a good job. This allows us to ruck Kruezer and put Cloke or Hampson foward for a break.

Wiggins can play as a lead up flanker but i think when our injures return he will be the first player to go.

second after ellard. But he'll have to do something special like Bannister last year to avoid the end-of-season axe.

Selwood should play in the Serie A. Such bull. It was silly for Fev to do it no doubt but selwood put his acting skills to the test and quite frankly he needs to do better. I will be very surprise if Fevola gets suspended he should be able to get away with it. If it was Good's the tribunal wouldnt even look at that incident twice.

In relation to Brisbane, i saw the game againt Geelong and without Brown nor Black they played amazing! There was a time i thought the Lion's were gonna take the 4 points.

This is a huge test for Carlton, i can't remember last time we bet Brisbane and the last time we won at the Dome. If we can this game and the next one against Freo, that would shut alot of people up! Go BLUES!

I don't think Fev will miss. It was an open hand slap close to play. Barry Hall played in a grand final after belting a player ion the guts with a clenched fist away from play. Selwood went down looking for a free kick. The more I see the footage, the more I think they will throw it out...
