Bit of a random thread here, just curious to know who are members and what not.
Why do you go for the blue baggers? How often do you go? Where do you sit, do you yell and show your passion or sit back and absorb the game?

oh yeah sorry for being so long winded and passionate. can't help it really. i did have two highlights on the weeknd we lost to adelaide when i went to the game. first one was sitting behind ryan houlihan on the plane on the way over. he was in tassie doing rehab on his hip, it was good to talk to him and get an idea of how things are amonst the player atm.. they are on cloud nine (so to speak.) the other highlight was speaking to my childhood hero greg 'diesel' williams at the game. i spoke to him at half time for ten minutes. i asked him if it was true????
he said 'is what true???'
is said that you could hand ball further than you could kick"?
he replied with a laugh ' ah know mate, pretty close though.!'
think he also blew out when i replayed half the 95 grand final off to him, when lanky earl spaulding captivated us by running in and kickin a goal after an awesome smother on the forward flank!!!

that made my weekend.

my great grandfather, my grandfather my dad and myself have all been carlton supporters, so i'm proud to say its my job to carry on the family tradition, 2011 will officially be the 100th year of family support. i am a member. long distance cause i live in tasmania. been to watch two in games in the last year. watched us lose to collingwood at the end of last year. and watched us lose to adelaide two weeks ago. got two other games to go to this year. carlton v collingwood mid june rnd 12 and round 16 v sydney. my hope is to make the top eight this year. i do were a bit of them on my sleeve, when we lose it screws my day up, when we play like we did in the third at subiaco on the weeknd it screws me up. i do get quite aggresive and passionate watchin the boys play, like at the adelaide game when i told three adelaide supporters to shut the **** up for baggin out judd. i was nearly on the boundary on our forward flank judd was on the mark and these cock snots were givin him ****. judd glanced over when i stood up and told them to piss off back to adelaide were they belong. got to stick up for our beloved blue boys. i feel sorry for justin from adelaide having to put up with those wankers at aami stadium when he goes. bout time we played with passion, strength and pride. long live the greatest team in australia. we look like beating essendon to seventeen premierships at the rate were climbing the mountain. all the blues supporters out there. congrats on being involved in a very proud club. just remember there will be one huge party in tassie if we win the premiership in 2011 and your all invited... llol!

I have lived in little old Adelaide all my life ( im 33 ), so when young following the SANFL was just about all there was to do. I was torn between two clubs, Glenelg and Sturt ( having older brothers, try to push in their direction ). So from there it was just natural progession to the Blues, with Kernahan, Bradley and Motts making the move across the border, how could you not follow. Ive now whitnessed the highs, watched the 87 prem as a youngster and was lucky enough to attend the 95 prem with my brother and missus ( what a weekend, oh what ayear with 20 wins ). And also the low times, as the Blues have struggled with sallary caps, draft picks, coaches and player dramas. But as history tells, times change and the team from good old Carlton town are finally finding the courage and determination to win games and enstill in us supporters that good winning feeling of old.I try to attend most Carlton matches at AAMI stadium, but the atmosphere there is more like knitting convention than a footy match! So I head to melb for big games like essendon and collingwood when i can. Im too emotional sometimes and cant just sit back.Ya got to get emotional. I cry, I laugh at them and with them, I support them in Highs and lows I love the BLUES.......cmooon! ( member )

I am a Carlton supporter but don't go to any matches as I am afraid we will lose and I will waste my money.

Wow, great attitude! Thats not what supporting is all about, so I wouldn't be calling myself a 'carlton SUPPORTER' if I were you.

I live in Tassie but have an interstate membership so i still get entry into 5 games, i've loved them ever since i can remember and have bled navy blood now for 27 years! Membership is pretty cheap really, for me it's $9 something cents a month so every needs to get on board. Loved the win against those weagles and almost cried in the third quarter when i thought we were done for BUT...
WE ARE THE NAVY BLUES!!

Ihave been a Carlton fan since I watched The Winners on TV when I was in primary school. I live in north-west WA, around 900kms from Perth, so a bit hard to attend games in Melbourne. The only chance of attending is when the Blues come to Perth, but with only 600 members tickets available, I am one of the many who missed out. I watch most games on TV either Free To Air or thru Foxtel, but sometimes the games are not live, so will listen to the radio.

I have been a Carlton supporter for 50 years, as was my father before me, as is my sister, my niece and my two nephews, another family tradition which began when my father lived in Brunswick and Princes Park was the closest ground.

I have been a Blues fan since God knows when. I am 35 and the first match I attended was when was about 6. I think it was 1978. I grew up on Lygon st and went to school at Carlton. Played footy at the now defunct Princes Hill Footy Club.So I was a typical Carlton kid.

However i currently live overseas. So it is pretty hard to attend a game. 28 hour flight plus tickets cost me around 4000 bucks a game so I listen to the games on internet and watch the game whenever it is available on sattelite TV. But I still buy memberships just for some contribution.

But as soon as I feel that we will make to September. I am going to get my ass down there.

I have bled navy blue since 95 (I guess that makes me a bandwagoner) I was 12 and the blues were winning so naturally I followed them and have done ever since. I am a memeber but live in Perth so don't get to go to many games. When I do I have been known to get a little... passionate so to speak

I am not a member but promise I will when i can afford it!! I go to every game when we play here in Adelaide and occasionaly (at least once a year) get over to melbourne to see a game... WOW, is it worth making the trip to a HOME GAME.... Yes indeed!!!

I come to Aus in late 1994 and my Cousin was the Bigest Carlton supporter, he wouldnt miss any game, collected any carlton merchandise, even articles about carlton from the paper and add them to some scrapbook!lolll It was only normal for me to get influenced and go for the best team in the leauge!

The fisrt grandfinal i saw was the 1995 final i think i was 10 or 9 years old. It was incredible!

It's been now 13 years since we won a GF but i'm still passionate about the club, more than ever, that i decided from this year onwards i will always buy membership.

I really can't sit there and watch the game without making a noise. I'm more of a screamer but i don't over do it like some.lol.
Except when the Umpire makes stupid decisions. haha

Marissa from Montrose (Blues supporter), 22 Apr 2008 18:20 hide comment
I think I have supported the blues since I was 7, thats when i remember my babysitter trying to convert me to the tigers, but I refused. Must have been, I was 10 when we beat Geelong in 95 and i remember that vividly. I'm an AFL member, with Carlton my nominated club, some say thats not really a Carlton member, but I've been added to list. If i'm on my own at the footy, I am a bit quiet, but can't help abusing the umpires every now and then, if I am with my sister, I am loud and passionate... but I dont scream. haha.
Good to see you are a member living in Perth Aaron!
