Blues kick Pies butt all the way home.
I have not seen the boys this happy in some time, This win was bitter sweet and the boys were like a well oiled machine, How amazing they played today, our defense has stood up under enormous pressure today, Fev, Judd,Fisher and the rest of the team kicked the feathers off those pies. I love it Love it Love it. Hmmm What does everyone else think. We broke the drought and with a perfect team to beat. Right pies fans, Now come in here and mouth off. huh

Most amazing game I have watched the blue baggers play in a long time, Fevola was phenomenal, but as Naomi said I just hope they dont go into this weekends game with Melbourne too cocky, because that has hurt us in the past, and we don't have a great record lately of stringing wins together
Naomi from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 18 Apr 2008 12:35 hide comment
Yep, hopefully it'll be 2 in a row this week. They should have beaten Essendon the week before - the signs are there that the team is starting to gel, and getting reliable supply to Fev is certainly paying dividends on the scoreboard. But I have to admit, this is a game that Carlton can easily lose. If they play as determinedly as they did against Collingwood, then they should come out with a win. But if they turn up EXPECTING to win, I reckon they'll get pulverised.

The Mighty Blues to make it 2 in a row this week. I have faith in this team. All they needed is a win and they did against the SCUM! Now we need consistance from Fev and a fully prepared Juddy and Stevo. A bit of more Houlihan and Scotland.A confident Kreuzer, Murphy and Gibbs and they will surely climb up the ladder.

Isn't Essendon the Scum? I thought Collingwood was the Filth.

it was quite amuzing watching us chip the ball around everytime collingwood looked like attacking. we reversed there medicine on them. cause thats exactly what they do when there in front. medhurst... was a waist of space, wow look at the show pony dale thomas walk in four his goal after a perthetic day on the park. they couldn't keep up with our very smart, collective and mature midfield. gibbs is really starting to hit form, thanks to great leadership from our captain. these boys are learning how to out wit and play other teams. i don't think we take into consideration that murphy judd kruezer and all the other young guys have been watchin and listening to every bit of input judd has to give them. i mean if he told you that you were playing to loose on your apponent would u respect him enough to do something about it. of course....
well done ratten, well done fev, and well done to the engine room for lifting to the next level... couple of the young backliners are gonna go the distance if they keep that sort of standard.

HOLY CRAP!!! This is the first time I've entered OUR forum with the pleasure of not having to read some magpie supporters ****. Does anyone know why?
Where are you know LOSERS!!
GO BLUES!!!
Bitter sweet victory!!!
Adrian from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 14 Apr 2008 15:21 hide comment
great game. The backs won it for us. Not only did Waite stop Rocca but he ran off him and hurt the pies on the rebound.

Also Ratten was amazing. He out coached Malthouse in every way. After we gave away 2 goals late in the first we made the boys play tempo footy late in every quarter and it worked a charm.

Unbeleivable stuff. can only get better from here.

GO BLUEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
WAS THAT OUR TEAM PLAYING YESTERDAY????

I haven't seen Carlton Played Mad Footy in god know's how long! The youngest side in the comp killed those f*cking Magpies!. Nothing like beating those arrogant- know it all pricks.

I agree with Trace, our defence did stand up! It was just amazing how the ball travelled from back to the forward line quickly.

And at the end it looked like we won some sort of final, everyone jumping! singing, hi-fives everywhere just an amazing feeling.
And ofcourse the Collingwood supporters as ussual saying that we didnt win the game, that they made us win it because the played sh*t. Give me a break!!! GO THE BLUE BOYS!!

WE ARE THE NAVY BLUES....WE ARE THE DARK NAVY BLUES........

WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Not since round 11 last year have won a match. How good did the team song sound, especially hearing the entire ground in full voice. The NRL are joking when they say that the NRL is better than AFL, or even equal to it. Almost 80,000 fans, something other codes could only dream about.

FEV finally pulled up his socks and played well, Judd had a good all round performance, and i'm glad that Ratts had his first win as coach.

Why not think of September?. If you don't dream big, you're behind before you've barely started. Let's show the other teams how the O'l Dark Navy Blues can really play. The spirit is back folks

And we finally keep a side under 100 points, well done waite, jamo, thorns and co... i can't wait to see the game here in WA.

Just so true Anna. Lets focus people. Collingwood are a finals side. A serious footy team and we smashed them in every facet. Heath Shaw was their only winner. We need to soak up the confidence and go forward. Lance Melbourne as form says we should and we are 2-3 and back in the fray!

I agree it was priceless to see the pies supporters leave the ground they were so cocky before the game. The blues deserved to win and they played a fantastic team game. A lot of heart was shown today which was pleasing. I hope more wins are around the corner.

Here's something: players/coaches in the middle of the circle during the song (i.e. first win for the club)

Paul Bower (16th Game)
Brett Ratten (10th Game)
Michael Jamison (8th Game)
Shaun Grigg (7th Game)
Chris Judd (4th Game)
Richard Hadley (4th Game)
Darren Pfeiffer (3rd Game)
Matthew Kreuzer (2nd Game)

Crowded circle.

Named after Del Tarrant, a character in obscure British sci-fi "Blake's 7." Yes, slightly lame, but nothing to do with Collingwood, fortunately.

I also remember that Chris Tarrant was selected at pick 8 by Collingwood after Carlton took Kris Massie at pick 7. Disappointing day for me.

Bad choice of name :-P. Oh well, at least we have made up for it now with Judd. I loved hearing them boo him today!
Marissa from Montrose (Blues supporter), 13 Apr 2008 20:26 hide comment
It was such a great win, because it finally gave the young guys a taste of glory, which is even better when it's against the pies and hopefully it builds our confidence up (not too much) to continue playing like that. And that is the second week in a row that our shots for goal were great too. Not used to seeing single figures in the behinds section.
