Much better blues!!!
I walked away from the game last night happier than ive been for a long time. I almost felt as if we won. So many positives that shows the future is very, very bright.

Eddie Betts played the best game of hi life and in my mind was our best on gound.

Fev, great.

Judd of old.

Steves better than hes been all year.

Jamison beat Lloyd for 3 quarters

Kruezer the next Dean Cox.

Apart for the first 15 minutes in the last quarter we played skillful, hard and determined football.

If we play like that for the rest of the year we will win about 6-8 games and show real promise for the future.

Very happy.

I'd like to know some of your thoughts.

They shouldn't have dropped Setanta. To have three ruckmen in Hammo (who played about 37 minutes, I think), Cloke and Kreuz, when Setanta would have given extra versatility, was a bad mistake - and it clearly cost us, since Thornton was mismatched on Hille when Setanta would have provided a better contest, allowing Thornton to be more dangerous further up the ground. Unless Kreuzer is played as a permanent forward, those three cannot be selected together. (Still - isn't it bloody nice to have a surplus of ruckmen for once: Cloke, Kreuzer, Hampson, both O'hAilpins, and Jacobs. As I've mentioned before, Ackland's career is definitely finished)

Eddie playing as a leading forward rather than just a crumber was a revelation.

i totaly agree with you about sentanta. put him on hille and let thorton play loose and when hilles off or rucking put him up foward and make fletcher acountable for someone rather than let him run loose.

o'well its to late now next time we meet the bomers.

also i think we could play hamo, kruezer and cloke in the same team. if u play 1 in the ruck, 1 at CHF and 1 on the bench with a constant rotaion it can confuse and disturb the opposition line up. think about it, if evey time there is a center bounce we have a different ruckman in the middle it will make it hard on the opposition to gain controll over any of them. just a thought though. dont think it will happen.

It's a good theory. I agree that it likely won't happen. I'm also not convinced that all three are interchangeable at CHF.

Yeah, I had fun. We played 3 great quarters expect for the likes of Houla, Scotland and Simmo (even though he had a rough trot with the umps, so did carlton as a whole, THEY WERE DISGRACEFUL!!), but we kept going and trying, I was and still am a little frustrated that we completely turned off in the last quarter... but hopefully that is something we really work on this week.
How good was our kicking!!?? We actually kicked straight and fevs is a legend with 8 goals. Betts (loved seeing the short arse take marks infront of tall buggers), Stevens, Judd and Fev were fantastic. Kruezer was damn good too. They were the stand outs for me.
What I want to know is why they dropped Edwards after round 1? He was one of our best.
I can't stand Llody!
I sat next to some essendon supporters and can you believe they were actually half decent... haha.

I too as a carlton supporter was quite happy with the game against essendon on saturday night.. few things i was disappointed with . losing to essendon, giving a goal at the end of 1,2,3 quarters.. 2 late goals to esendon ibn 3rd quarter hurt bad... we could have been in front by a couple going into last quarter which may of helped.. OTHER THAN THAT GREAT EFFORT>> big positives
