Definately 100% as a forward. He's too flighty you worry about his mental capacity sometimes to concentrate. Plus he will release Fish to play 3rd option for which he's good at. Remembering he kicked 39 goals last year in this role from 16 games and would have close to All Australian. Plus we keep saying he's gunna be a superstar but he's 25. Most superstars have reaches this status much earlier

he needs to play down back he gives us to much run to have him up forward

I look at Waite like Pavlich. The guy could be a superstar in either area. Let him jump around a little for the next year. Change him acording to which team they're playing i.e. St Kilda send him back, Bulldogs send him forward etc. When he has a bit more expriance and meat on him send him to CHF and let him dominate ala Brown or Pavlich

Waite is definitely great down back... we have proved so far this year that we have enough goal kickers up forward. I think he will develop into some sort of Silvagni type who plays mainly down back and beats his opponent but can also switch forward when required.

i want to know who he was on the other day. if it was mcphee i feel it was a waste. we should have put bower on mcphee and put waite up foward. he could have kicked the 3 goals we lost by.

Backline, but rotate him when his oppenent is taller and more solid than him (like Richo), then on these sorts oppenents play him CHF.

i think after thursday he needs to be up foward. i didnt have an opinion until then but after the game i decided that unless hes gonna take the no.1 opiton he is being wasted. Why wasnt he on Richo i dont know. Fev cant take a mark when 3 guys are in front of him. let Fev lead up the CHF and play waite in the goal square. it makes the opposition defenders ac****able so they cant double or triple team Fev.

Richo beat Jamison purely by going body to body, if he took the same approach with waite he still would've beaten him. Waite needs to play on forwards his own size, pref a 2nd or 3rd forward so he can rebound. If he gets stuck in the goalsquare on Richo he won't have as much of an impact on the game himself. Still, would've been nice to maybe see him have a quick stint on Richo cus Jamison was struggling, but you can't keep Waite bogged down all game in a negating role.

CHB, no questions about it Waite should be our key defender, he could be a wildcard like Buddy. Most CHB are slow, strong, solid overhead. Waite is quick, strong, has a huge leap, and has a flair factor (one handed marks etc...) he could be a fantastic rebounding defender as WELL as a negating defender effectively making him quite an individual.

Maybe needs to learn the game a bit from the back, but utimately as a forward and if he never comes a good forward he will have never met his potential. So get him in the gym so he's bulked up somewhere close to Brown.

As much as I would love to see him playing up forward, I think he is more beneficial to the team playing down back at the moment as our defence is very inexperienced. Hpefully one of Hartlet or Edwards can assist Fev up forward this year til Fisher returns.

I think that he is great down back when he is given the set task of stopping one centre half forward... but if there is no match up there for him he must be put forward as he is highly damaging to opposition teams... how do you man up on someone with so much talent? (and how good was his hanger over Brad Johnson at MC Labor Park the other night!!!)

He is one of the most intuitive assisting CHFs that I've seen, and would be a great asset in the forward line, and; his field kicking has a habit of letting him down, which can be a liability in the backline. However, he's needed down back. He's the only one who can play on Riewoldt, and there are other players that we need him to match up on. Plus, with Ratten's gameplan, he'll likely be doing less kicking and more handpassing, so he could be a dangerous defender, feeding the rebounds out to the likes of Scotto and Simmo.

i was actually thinking of putting this question up!lol.. hmm its a tough one mate, he plays well in both, but i think we need to work more on our backline and he is someone that can really be useful there. But then again, I reckon he will be rotated throughout the year.
