Mcgregor again disappointing while walker kicks nine.
McGregor and Jericho were brought into the side. Jericho made his opportunities count and kicked 5 while McGregor looked lost in the forward line when he was there.

When he got selected i thought were could he play as he was playing down back for the eagles. I was totally bemused! He also played in the ruck and got beaten and got beaten down back against richmond.

There was a comment on radio that everyone cant be superstars and someone has to play their role. What was Ken's role? Everybody contributed in someway but for me McGregor looked out of his depth unfortunately.

The same day Taylor Walker kicked nine goals for Norwood. The Crows had a good win and selectors not often change a winning team.

I know burton will be back in one week so one has to go out for him. Why not replace McGregor with Walker and see what he can do at the highest level? even if it may be for a week?

All this talk that he is too young or not strong enough is rubbish! many 18 year olds play whole seasons at clubs. With a nine goal haul surely he would come under consideration.

Will they persist with McGregor? I hope not. He kicked four goals last year but he doesn't put in the second efforts or is agile enough for modern footy. He could only play full forward with his limited kicking. We all know what he can do.

For me it is time to see what this kid can do and look to the future instead and invest in our youth which will benefit us later and ensure they want to stay at the mighty Crows!

My message to selectors ... so far you have done a good job in selecting youth but more are sanding up while current players may be not performing. It's time to make the hard decisions you normally dont make and select the youth as they are the future while players like McGregor fail to perform when selected.

Also Walker has been steady for Norwood and deserves ago while at peak form not later when there are injuries to the side!

Am I too harsh on McGregor? Discuss it all!

Five to be dropped tough call...

I reckon Kenny and Bryce C are in trouble. Gill and Massie haven't had an impact yet this year, but still have time.

Biglands... tough but if Bodey got the chop he's out too.

OK I follow WWT But in defence I have seen Taylor Walker from NSW Broken Hill 18 kicked 9 1 sat and lead well kicked tru the line of the ball..should play this season 4 the Crows also a few weeks ago I saw a guy for South play as a forward ..as a AFL player a flank would be Andy Ottens go both must be placing pressure on the current players 4 a future this is GREAT..
re Trent H hes a few weeks away imho ..to be match hardened ..and Kenny Mc mmm
The Crows @ this stage will begin to look at end of the season trades
remember they have to drop 5 I''ll lead with
Kenny Mc and add Nic Gill & Rhett Biglands hard but two knee ops Shawn Rhen didnt come back...What does the forum feel?

very good call very astute judge. Biglands would find it hard to come back after two recos and gill where is he at the moment...has talent but seems injury prone and mcgregor well he wanted to leave the club and probably stayed because no one wanted him . Last year he wasn't the same player either with being dropped constantly. At the end of the year in the draft a few key position players might need to be targeted if these three go. pleasee hope they can kick goals though.

I've always seen McGregor as similar to Stevens, both similar size/height and versatile enough to play either end of the ground. Unfortunately McGregor has failed to make the most of his opportunities, while Stevens has flourished and found himself a regular spot in the side. The difference in these two last year appeared to be effort/awareness.

Give Taylor a couple more weeks to see if he can back up his effort with consistency, same with Jericho. They'll get a lot more attention now that they've kicked bags.

Unfortunately I think McGregor's game will count massively against him and he'll lose his spot for either Gill, Hentschel or Griffin.

McGregor hasn't really been given a good go. I reckon give him another chance. As you say, when he's played for the Eagles he has only been on the back line so really hasn't had a lot of practice up forward. He does alright down the back when he plays for the eagles. I think he has lost some confidence and tends to choke a bit in AFL because he hardly ever gets an opportunity to play at that level either in back line or forward positions. There is a lot of pressure on these guys.

At least Ken was (and still is possibly?) working in a cadet position for The Advertiser. So if things don't work out with the crows hopefully journalism will work out for him.
